technical question

I think I am just confusing myself - not unlikely. Why do you have to go to my home to send a PM. In a previous life I played around on a site that just had a PM ****on - similar in location to the "quote" ****on.
Just a little thing but seems like I either do not have something set right or it could be a slight improvement to this outstanding site.
Any advice let me know.
