I went with a basic Kwik Wire on my Ford. I was able to see their instruction book before I laid out my $$. I didn't need any light sockets, etc. I bought those few items as I went along.

I didn't care for the OG Ford tailight sockets, I went with a newer GM type even thought I had to open the holes on the buckets from 5/8" to 1 1/8". Surprising enough, the head light, dash cluster wiring and heater control wiring were in decent shape.

  2. The one wire at a time is great, I redid a 53 Buick Skylark that way years ago, the hidden benefit is you don't have to understand any of the wiring functions, just change them one at a time.

Yes this is the way to check out an old system….but it is the same advice for a new system. If you look at the gob of wires when you pull it out of the box, it can be intimidating!
Just look at any wiring system ….one wire at a time….it becomes simple!
I’m sure there are people here with “ scarier “ electrical systems than the ones I worked on, but that is how I chased problems in the old firetrucks I worked on! One Firetruck is equal to many hot rods, electrical speaking!

Its too bad you don't have a serial number on the fuse block because Ron Francis can go to their archives look up your kit and walk you through the "nightmare" try calling them maybe they have some good suggestions. I have their kit in my 40 ford and really like it and the support they offer. They color code and print circuit information every foot or so.
