One of the hot rod ch***is parts vendors used to sell it but you should be able to get it from a local industrial plastics vendor. If you have a Redwood Plastics store in your area they can come up with it and probably get our cut you strips the right width. They normally deal with industrial accounts but handle small orders.
Or Speedway has some "teflon like" strips https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Flat-Spring-Liners,7471.html
Just scroll down that page a bit and they show spring liners with lips on them to hold them in place.

    Thanks.
Tried looking at S/W but it freezes up and I can't see any dimensions
    No Redwood plastics.

Just go to the Speedway home page and put 91033035 in the search and you should be able to find that page.

Be sure to use the strips that look like the old Hot Wheels track, it has sides to it. The sides keeps the strips in place and divert water away from the leaves.

I wish I could find some that would fit my spring. Speedway has some but it has a raised edge on one side only. I'll figure it out.

  8. Don't know what kind of spring you are using, but some have about 1/4" hole drilled into the ends which take a "****on" type teflon insert. I used some once, I think on a F-100 spring .

Just paint the friction surfaces with "Dacromet" paint.
It is a controlled friction coating made by DuPont for that purpose

Dacromet is a dry film self lubricant as well as having anti corrosive properties.
It is on of the reasons why shocks aren't required on trailer springs [it controls friction]

Renault, Volvo, and Iveco use it on Truck springs

I don't think Speedway has the clear pieces. Total Performance used to. With a lip on each side.

  15. I don't know exact thickness I just get mine from the spring shop in down town KCMO. Most larger cities have a spring shop and they should be able to help you.

Jim, let me know how that stuff works out. If you get good results I may order some and just put it aside till eventually I'll have the spring out for something and if I already have itt, then I can put it in on BGII.

Talked with several folks and they think it's good. I ordered the 2.25
I picked up some of the rust restorer at W/Mart and its on the spring leaves now. Will paint the individual leaves then put the spring together with the strips. Now to get the compressor working. Always something.
