    I like it.

Please make it so you can open the deck lid. :D

That way you can use some of that huge trunk area.

Stick with it, you're heading in the right direction again, IMO.

I like the new trunklid a lot. Is the peak going to open up with the lid, or is the peak going to get welded to the back of the car and the lid open pancake style? I like this a lot better than the Ranchero idea, that I wasn't too keen on. This seems to make sense with the fins on the back too.

definitely a possibility at some point down the road,,,,but for now, the goal is to get the body finished up and on the road by round-up 2012 ;)

thanks,,,,,ironically, one of the next steps i have planned is to extend the fin into the door much as your rendering...i feel it provides some visual length and makes the roof proportion look better...

Jim, Telstar is coming along great. Did you decide what powertrain to run in it yet ? Being a Ford Guy I would love to see a dressed out Y-Block under the hood. Do you have a side profile that shows how it looks on the side?

dave,,,i'd absolutely love to run a y-block,,,,unfortunately, i'm gonna just use the engine that came with the car (a 302/c-4).....it runs well and will be reliable,,,maybe somewhere down the road i will be able to acquire a cooler engine,,,,a y-block, nailhead, or maybe an olds rocket

So much of this car has an early 60's vibe shape-wise, except that distinctly 50's round roof...it needs a flatter roof shape to flow with everything else, in my eyes...I was always so excited to see updates on this car, until this round of pics...the decklid looks great, but the roof kills the entire car for me...I'm sure it will still look amazing when completed, but it doesn't seem as stylish now as it did when it was a roadster/convertible (or whatever the original design was)...

i don't disagree with you guys on the roof,,,,,,
my very limited budget just doesn't allow me to purchase another parts car for the roof/windshield.....

as you guys already know, i have absolutely no qualms about cutting and reconfiguring things on the car,,,bottom line is,,if i can find something suitable for the right price,,,i will modify the car to fit....

Took some of the crown out of the top and lengthen it,
put more pitch in the rear window.
Also lengthen the flair on the taillight.

thanks for taking the time to do that,,,,
i, too believe there is too much crown to the roof as is,,,,

ideally, i think a 57-60 chrysler roof/windshield would solve the problem,,,,,,not much of a crown to it, lots of gl***, hardtop styling......i'd chop it, shorten it and graft it on,,,,just need to locate one for a reasonable price,,,,the more i think of this, the more i like it,,,,,if someone could do a quickie photoshop, i'd appreciate it...
