    Hey Jim,

Perhaps you could use the two-piece front facebar off a '60 Dodge or '55 Pontiac to offer cover for the fact that you've used the Volkswagen tin out back. Either of these bars have a shape and scale that would fill the areas beneith your taillamp cowls, and still offer some chrome bling out back. The front facebar from a '70 Camaro would hug the shape of the Ghia "bump" and give the rear a kinda "eye-tal-yun'' feel, but would be tough to keep it from lookin like a 70 Chevrolet!

The use of the Volkswagen tin offers up another set of design problems- what to do with that huge dutchman panel? Unless you're planning on a roof with large sail panels, or a roadster droptop where you'll use this area for a boot, much like an early Corvette, the Ghia tin falls short. It's too small in scale for the rear of the design, and has that ''look, arn't I smart, look what I've done with Volkswagen tin" kinda vibe. Maybe the hood panel from a '61-'67 Continental or Imperial of that era would better fill & be in scale for the area?
    Maybe toss the dice, again?

    Very nice Jim.
It's a shame to loose the grill inlets from the Ghia - those seem to add something that works with the tailight shapes, but it becomes too easy to indentify the v-dub donor, so better to make them gone.
Either way, you've got a good eye!

Definately do away with the ghia grilles, but having the exhaust exit where the grilles once were would be cool as well... perfect round holes with chrome tips sticking out!!!

I wouldnt leave them on, unchanged.

But maybe, how about lowering the taillights to line up with them, and make them be the end of the light?

Kinda like a '59 chevy taillight, but different...

    I like this car..

    Radical, and Awesome-Ness. :)
