When you get done with that I have a stack of penny's and a little refridgerator and my neighbors john boat. ((he doesn't know I have it but...shhh)))

Ok so what I'm thinking is something along the lines of a ledsled but longer. Finish height to be around 38" off the ground. Powered by a 392 Hemi with 4 strombergs around a carter afb in the middle....co**** we'll have to build the intake. I got some aluminum we can melt down for that. Now I saw on ebay 59 caddy taillights but I think we oughtta go with about six of them across the bottom lip of the trunk lid, now while I'm on the trunk lid do you think we can bring back the rumble seat idea?

ok ok ok I'm just teasin!! Anyone who can do that much cutting and welding and reworking and actually end up with a car out of it amazes me.
I cut the roof off my toyota truck.....THEN read the part about bracing the floors so the cab wouldn't buckle. Bought it and sent it to the junk yard in one week!!
    keep it up!!

    Great job :D:D:D

  5. This picture hints at more wild changes up front, too? WOW!

I'm guessing that you never really get nervous about cutting into a car anymore...you need an apprentice?

    a productive day today,,,,,,,,,,,,
sectioned the front fender, grafted the 56 olds wheel opening on, sunk the deck area down,,,,mocked up the roof outline with conduit,,mocked up the headlight pod,,,,lowered the lift to check ride height, stance,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,really beginning to look like the picture in my warped mind,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

ok,,the idea on the headlight buckets:
im thinking of using them as pods to cover the headlights during the day,,
they will be removable for night driving,,will be the same color as the car, which will give it a more streamlined look,,,also thought of possibly making a pair out of clear acrylic, and just permanently mounting them that way,,but i like the painted idea better

Just a thought, but if you used some of those small projector headlights in the end of the headlight buckets, then they´d match the taillights almost perfectly.

The very small round lights found in a lot of new cars.
I would normally say they´re too modern, but you aren´t going to see anything but the lens anyway and it could be such a prefect match for the taillights.

Some people fit them into these E and J style headlights.

HAHAHA I knew you couldn't leave it alone and you would make more changes. I knew it! Looks great Jim!! It is awsome that every time you make a change it improves the overall look of the car so dramatically.

With all the techniques for making wide whitewalls, it should be possible to make a set of these slotted whitewall tires on this concept car. I like it, very spacey.

The projector headlight in the tip of the dome, or regular bulbs behind a plastic dome are both ideas I really would like to see. The headlight covers would look cool during the day but be impractical at night if you had to take them off manually.

If the headlight buckets were chromed and had the little projectors in it, they would match the taillights really well. And I would guess there is some kind of period aircraft light equivalent in the same size if a timeline needs to be justified.

    Hey Jim,

Many guys on this board can build "safe-kustoms"! A like and kind rendition of an idea that's been done over and under, for the last fifty or sixty years is cool, but safe. It's when someone chucks "safe" overboard, and truley builds their version of their vision that real kustoms are built. Summers, Valley Custom, Metz & Clark Kaiser didn't do "safe"!
" warped mind", nah, ya jus' look out a different window than most.
