So is this really it? Gonna start welding it together soon?
The back really works as you have it, IMHO.

Damn Jim!! I absolutely love where this is going...The fin tips and headlight pods are superb...I'd love to see the headlight pods welded in and the headlights moved inside and below them, almost giving it a quad light look, with some Lucas flamethrowers incorporated into the grille ends...Damn.......

  12. Wow...I've had my ups and downs with some of the mods, but it's all coming together nicely as a whole. You're a visionary.

been doing a little rethinking on the bubble top...i plan to DRIVE this thing a lot,,and as cool as a bubble top would be,,i'm thinking it would not be very practical to drive around,,,,,,mocked up a wraparound windshield frame,,,still thinking up some ideas on a removable hardtop of some sort,,,,,here are a few pics,,,,

Good move - I wasn´t convinced by the bubble top. Its kind of cool on an all out show car, but for everyday use... maybe not.

The bubble top was cool, but I think this looks like a good change.

Had too look two times ,but sure enough ya did the exact same hood layout of those Buick EX portholes in to intakes ports as I did with my hood in 1960 on my full custom Henry J,can be found in jan 1963 Car Craft.
I'm sure ya did it on your own,but I always love'edm.
Never let the burnout fink get ya down, keep'r going, your doing great.
If it's any help,I used a 53/55 Stud Lowre coupe rear window turned back word and sunk at the doors a little for even more layback as a front windshield, there raparound low and tined.

i remember that car,,,,i thought that was a great idea to use the stude rear window as a windshield,,,but isn't that tempered gl***?....i'm actually not gonna use the buick portholes after all,,,i had a chopped shoebox i put them in,,and i loved them there, but on this particular car they just don't work..i just needed to at least try it and see how they looked,,,stared at them for weeks,,but after studying them and considering feedback from someone who's opinion i value very highly,,i decided against them,,,the car is all about flow and smoothness,,,

Glad you dropped the bubble top...has much better lines without it.

  23. You could always do a removable bubble with the wraparound window. The Chrysler Turboflite or even the Corvette XP700 come to mind or Mako Shark too. You could even uses tinted Lexan panels on top. Also look at the Ford X100 concept.

Car is looking great regardless, I'm enjoying watching the build.

Alway liked this top,the rear of the top could be metal painted,
padded or tinted plastic.Plus all the parts could be removable.
TwoChops----this a ps that I did about 10 years ago when
you 1st started building the Telstar---lol

    hahahaha,,,,it FEELS like 10 years,,,,,
i always liked the look of that one,,,,
i think i need to do something with a little more of
a "spaceship" vibe though,,although,,maybe some roll and pleats
like on the trendero would be neat,,,,hmmm,,,

  27. ya hooo!!! just found this and WOW, its great to see some radical work going on. ill save this thread.

  28. In Detroit they do it with clay or a computer mouse. But you do it by moving the metal around, just to get it the way you like it.

    Amazing, Dude, amazing!

Maybe Detroit could use your help now.
