I just picked up two 1940 Buick's in south Florida; a convertible and a coupe. Both cars have wood in their seat frames, a lot of wood. The convertible also has wood in the convertible top well and on the top frame along the rear of the door windows. Did y'all know that south Florida has drywood termites? I know they are in California, Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. They have devoured my seat frames, just ruined them. The wood parts for the convertible are small enough to fit in my freezer. At least I can kill the little buggers in these pieces then use the old parts as forms for new parts. Drywood termites are different than the subterranean termites and fly through the air to get to their food source. That is why they can be found in cars that are parked in a garage or on a parking lot. Beware these things can do some serious damage! Isn't there a thread called Termites and Bowties? I'll search for that thread.
That sucks . Normally termites is a gag in reference to all the wood in Chevrolet cars. Being from Canada I thought it was a joke.

cold/freezing temps are not recomended to kill them. heat between 120° and 140° for 35 minutes kills them.
