So, what is the problem with your doors and deck lid? By the way, it took 28 years this past winter to find another passenger door. My original door from about a 1/3rd up from the bottom had ugly bodywork. My decklid has rust damage about 3" from the bottom. These Chevy deck lids are IMPOSSIBLE to find. I'm planning to cut off the rust, strengthen the bottom with thicker steel and purchase the rear panel under the lid from a '32 Ford (these panels are higher than our Chevies) and look similar in shape. Won't know for sure until it's in my garage...

My passenger door has some rot, and my deck lid does too have to build some structure.

It's not like the good old days when we walked away from all but surface rust. We were so spoiled, but they were almost new then. When I got my '38 coupe it was only 21.

Simple, just click on my build thread and read when you can. Planning to get my brake system done on a weekend next month and will post some pics...

planned on putting the body on yesterday. Decided to bleed the brakes and the master failed. Hopefully warranty it and replace this week and get the body on this weekend and I’ll have some pics. Did pick up this 40/41 light bracket I’m going to try and incorporate into the build somehow

    What dash/insert y’all running?

  13. If anyone has a spare '29 dashboard (especially if it's a roadster dash), I'd be interested- found two pieces of unobtanium for my '29 boattail project :D... I'll try to get some pics uploaded later this weekend, but suffice to say, I'm very happy!

I'll be fitting as much of this as I can into my '26 Roadster. It is '55 Studebaker Speedster. May need to find a radio, clock, & cigarette lighter.

Don’t plan on using all those switches? I’m debating on having some dummy switches just to fill in the insert.

That will be a pretty clean look. Tough choices because this is something we will always be looking at. Mistakes could be annoying and hard to ignore, sorta' like a steering wheel with holes.

anyone aware of any place that you can order louvered skins(deck lid)? I found one guy online, but he said he's taking a break due to health issues until feb.

That is such a spot on look - have you considered coming up with a design of your own to make your louvers unique to your hot rod? Something to think about!

I don’t have a press, this was kind of the easiest thing I could do at this point. I wanted the diamond peak ones but they’re hard to find

I’ve been eyeing these running boards on eBay for some time to use on my 33 standard 3w Has anyone have any feedback on the quality? Looks like there are at least two makers of them

New guy here. 12/30/23 was delivery day of a really nice 1934 Chevy Master 5 window coupe. Nice doors, deck lid, hood, grille surround and frame. Body has minimal damage. I don’t think I’m missing any major body piece. Steering column is gone but I’ll get something that will work. Here’s a link to a lot of pictures posted on my website. https://lugnutz65chevystepside.weebly.com/1934-chevy-master-5-window-coupe.html

I think all that wood is from a wood kit someone bought years ago. The coupe still has a lot of wood remaining inside, so I can’t imagine it’s all the original pieces. The wood kit for the most part seems to be in really good shape too. I’m leaning on using steel instead of wood but I really need advice before I decide.

Looks great, if I had the wood I’d probably use it. I just got lucky mine was replaced with steel. I just made a steering column for mine today.

I think a very subtle roof chop and then add a SBC 283 with a manual transmission would work nice. Kidney bean slot wheels and make it stop and go reliably. Not gonna be a show car. Gotta drive it and enjoy it.

I’m 64 years old. I’ll probably retire 67ish and drive it here in Columbia, SC whenever I fancy. Several times a week I hope. The 1934 will compete with my other rides, a 1963 Chevy C10 fleetside and a 1965 C10 stepside.

I think I'd use the wood too. I really wouldn't be much harder and "wood" have more class. The closed car bodies were made by Fisher. There are book,s plans, & measurements available.
