Think I'm finally going to put the garnish in the car lol so I can figure out some interior. I have that sound deadening stuff on the ground and it get's stuck to anything you lay on the floor of the car

Doug, You’ve got a great start to a cool rod. I saw your post on a FB forum too. We both hsve 34s that need plenty of work. Keep at it. I’m gonna get back to building mine this week.

Great looking project Doug, don't remember seeing a three window Master Coupe before, man your '34 seems to be in great condition - we're all looking forward to see you start a build thread when you can!

Jay, You got a great 34 also...They are lots of work , I enjoy the challenge. Currently trying to adjust doors for proper operation and having trouble getting the hinge screws loose, working on getting the cowl vent working and replacing broken pivot rivets. I have most of the parts to assemble, but lots of little stuff missing. Also got the original parts I won't be using. (original wire wheels, engine tins, seats and misc brake backing plates and drums). Any ideas were to list these to sell to help fund the project ? I do have build experience with the 1933 Chevy Town Sedan I built. Thanks

Doug, look into one of the larger antique clubs like the VCCA to sell your parts that you don't need (Vintage Chevrolet Club of America) - here's the link: https://vcca.org

Doug, My 34 has been a little more work than I anticipated. A prior owner did some things that needed to be undone. I media blasted the frame after a few repairs. The X-member is no longer in the frame (removed by someone else). So from here on out, it’s my imagination. My 34 was delivered to me 12/30/23, but I didn’t get to start on it until late January 2024. I’ll post some updates here soon, but I haven’t touched it in a month because of other priorities which thankfully are now out of the way.

Finally got my rear sub rails bent up to follow the frame.

If the rain keeps up I may just get everything tacked together and finally get my body sheet metal on the chassis to fit and square.

Finally got the garnish situation figured out. Probably going to chrome them and finish up the body work and try and spray it. IMG_0465.jpeg IMG_0470.jpeg IMG_0467.jpeg IMG_0468.jpeg

You are motivating me to do something tomorrow. I was going to work on a transmission but now I’m undecided.
Keep at it. I like the progress.

Keep up the great workmanship !! Trying to hang parts on mine...Anyone know how the gas tank cover mounts to the body on the 34 Chevy ? Bought a fiberglass one as needed and only has a 1/2" Flange at top to secure to rear of body.

  14. on my 33 there are wood screws that screw up into the wood on the back of the body. all about 5" apart. it gets bolted to the rear fenders and a bracket off the tail end of the frame.

A Christmas poem for Hot Rod owners.

    T'was the night before Christmas,
an old Hot Rod is in my garage,
    It don’t matter if it’s a Plymouth,
    Ford, Chevy or Dodge.

The chrome and paint were polished perfection,
    hoping to pass Santa's inspection.
4 new tires were placed by the chimney with care
hoping St. Nicholas would fill them with air.

    When all of a sudden
    there was a thunderous roar,
    Santa started my ride
    and opened the garage door.

With a wink of his eye,
he sped off out of sight,
    My hot rod was gone
in the dark of the night!

    I awoke the next morn,
    my mind full of fear.
    Did Santa trade my coupe
    for eight tiny reindeer?

    Then all became clear
    as I opened the door.
Santa preferred reins and a sleigh
to my 4 on the floor.

    I chuckled and smiled
    at what I found inside.
T'was a note from Santa sayin'
    "thanks for the joyride".

He'd filled my garage with presents galore.
A new carb and some spark plugs.
He left my keys in the door.

    The note clearly said
    that he'd not return soon,
    but he promised to visit
on a warm night this June.

Said he'd be wearin' Bermuda shorts,
and a shirt Mrs Claus would be choosin'
I should have the tank full
'cause he wants to go cruisin'.

    Merry Christmas!

I would like to see more pictures of your 1934 Chevy Coupe....Love it and currently building one. Any pictures of the trunk lid latch mountings and trough for drainage would be a help. Converting mine from rumble to trunk. Thanks, Doug

Thanks. Scroll back to page 119 around March this year. I posted converting back to stock latch. The bottom corners of the drain trough had holes that I adapted hoses to drain water out through holes in the trunk floor. I don't know how they drained originally. I probably have more pictures of the deck lid latch conversion if you want to see them.

Looks like you won’t be the only white car here for long haha. Going to shoot my dash and some small parts in the next few weeks to see if I made the right choice in color IMG_0511.jpeg

cost me a fortune lol; cracked my glass though fixing my door and such. which brings me here, are most of you using a gasket for your windshield? Since mine is chopped the factory one wont work; i used the 3m window seal and glued it in like a modern one.

In 1960 I had every piece of metal I could remove for the passenger area of my '38 Ford coupe chromed. Complete dash .......it cost $100. That car has to be somewhere with some of that chrome left. Took it to TJ in '61 and got it upholstered for less than $100. Things were cheaper but money was harder to come by.

No, Not original paint or color ! I hate the color ! I am slowly sanding it off. Original color is pigeon gray.

My bones, backing plates, and headlight stands were cheaper than this molding which is insane. I won’t be chroming anything else
