Nicely done... You got the lines flowing great on the chop, and the door openings. I really like the idea of having the hood on it, with the louvers Keep going...ghost

I just sent all the fenders and other loose stuff over to the media blasters. If all goes well with these. Then the body will be next. I had this guy work on some other projects. And the metal always comes back looking brand new...ghost

Cmon how bad. explain, I had to fix the bottom of both sides up about 4 inches on both sides also the body both sides and around the back. Oh by the way your car is the reason I bought mine. I was looking at all the parts this guy had for sale turned out to be a 28 chevy. And googled 28 chevy. And your hamb thread came up. so thanks alot...ghost

  11. Count me in too. I searched for a two door sedan for a year or more, not caring what make (chevy, dodge, ford, etc...) and didn't find anything at a reasonable price. Then one day my dog ran off and I walked down a dirt road near my house that I had never been down before and low and behold there sat a two door and a four door '31 Chevy Sedans. Went straight to the house and the next day I moved both of them to my place for $1200. Sold the four door to a friend that had to have it for 3/4 of what I paid and now the two door awaits it's turn in the shop. I had some free time awhile back and I repaired the door bottoms of both doors and I have been designing a new frame for it using torsion sprung straight axle and Buick 215 aluminum V-8. The cowl needs a bit of rust repair. At some point in it's life someone screwed sheetmetal in the roof insert and leaded it in and that really saved all the roof wood but everything below the windows is rotted. It also had a little bit of red and white tuck and roll interior in it so it makes me think that it was someone's hotrod at some point Oh, by the way I did find my dog later that day and thanked him for running off.

  12. Would anyone have a drawing of a mid-late 20's Chevrolet chassis? I'm trying to get some body ideas together for the chassis I'm going to go look at.

What years are we talking about. I have a 1940 Chevy PU. No wood, so no termites. Plenty of bowtie though.

Well I guess once I finish the bed, I can get some termites as an accessory. Do they cost more if they come in the original GM boxes?

Hmmmm. o.e.m. termites. Bet I could sell this. Anyway post up some pics of your truck. I'm sure everyone would like to see it. I've got a line on a 37 chevy half ton. (fair price) I'm gonna get it for a future project I don't need it, but I didn't need any of the others. I think a truck is in order...ghost

Very nice... I really like your choice of engine. I was thinking 250 inline six and a truck 4 speed just for grins. Full fendered of course. More restore than anything Here is a pic of a friends I believe 39 chevy with a slight chop. And a 40 chevy cab that I chopped and added a new firewall for another friend...ghost

  21. Ghost28,

    Thanks for the pics-

I'm just goofing around on TurboCAD with some ideas that I had put together for a T chassis to see if they could be adapted to a Chevrolet chassis. There's lots of T speedster info out there, but not alot for early Chevy...

This is what I was originally going after:

I like where you're going with the design. hmmm single seater? if the nose was stretched a little bit I've got a big buick straight 8 that would look cool in there keep us informed...ghost

  24. It's a two seater- but only about 36 inches across the cockpit... nice and snuggly:D

I have it mocked out in HDF bucks and masking paper (my oldest son hit it with the hose the other day, so I'll have to redo the paper ) on the T chassis, and I just fit in it(I'm 6'6").

Will keep you up to date- hope to see the Chevrolet chassis this week or next.

    Thanks for the interest, Bill

Dont I know it. But the deals are still out there. I paid $400.00 for my 28 last year. But it was really rough and mostly sheet metal pieces. And now I've got a line on a 37 chev truck in pieces for $1200.00. If that 3 window is any good at all and with paper. He might get his asking price, especially if it is a chevrolet mercury body style. Very few of them around...ghost

If the chassis/drivetrain, even if the motor isn't running, the used starter/gen/waterpump all go for more than you would ever guess, used parts for old chevys(there are NO aftermarket for sale like model A), parts sell very well on ebay, so you can recoup a lot for stuff you don't plan on using, 4k is high for derelict sheetmetal, even if it's a coupe though.

I am glad to see other rodders building Chevys.I am trying to get my 30 Chevy on the road this spring.Putting in a inline 6 292 with a T5 transmission.
I hope to have it ready for the Hot Rod Reunion in Bowling Green,Ky.
(I just hope there are a few less golf carts this year)
If I can figure out how to post pictures I will post some of my progress.
I want to get engine and all set up before I start replacing the wood

    FUCKER!

Wow Dick, that's quite the score. Now you can get started on the Dickie Flippen coupe clone. Nice work my friend, you deserve it because nobody appreciates the Early Chevy shit like you do.
