    From what I have found, the 2 door sedan door is longer than a coupe.

    I would think a 4 door sedan door front would be the same as a coupe ??? But a 2 door coach, obviously the door is longer so people can get to the back seat.

    of coarse it will, a 36 anything would be beautified by a 35 master chev grill shell and trim.

    I think i can manage floor now, have the difference measurement for front middle and rear, so i think it is possible to make it. But started in middle of the car first

    Today my son and I went to Placerville CA to pick up a Monarch lathe that he had purchased. The guy he bought it from is a sheet metal former. He had a stack of early Chevy radiator shells he makes for someone who sells them. There were wooden bucks for Model T shells and a couple of boat tail wooden bucks. He also spins pieces and talked about making early Chevy head light buckets. An amazing 27 year old! Sadly he is closing his shop and moving east to take a job building concept cars for GM. What a talented and nice young man. I'll try to post some pictures soon.

    Does anyone have the dimensions of the door window glass for the 1933 Chevy 5 window coupe?
    I am rebuilding my drag car for use on the street. I have replaced the wood with sheet metal shaped pieces.

    435FFCAD-A434-4A6F-A2E8-1432D63A31F9.jpeg One of the door. The inner panel is like a 36 That did not use wood. I am fabricating the window channel and the dividing piece at the vent window. The floor has 2 x 1 tube along the perimeter and transverse pieces as well. I faced the floor from 16 ga using my Pullmax P9. The sheet is rosette welded
    At about 2 inches.
    The pins are replaced with 1/8” ss rivets around the windows and the trunk.

  11. the garnish moulding should have a relief for the vent window and divider. should give you some idea where to put the divider.

    Yes it has a notch but I am building from the rear to the front. This will get me closer to where I want to get.

    Water sanding prepping the louvers for primer and paint..........scary. I did the hood top on my 35 coupe with 37 4" louvers per side. Water sanding the nitro lacquer and HAND polishing it, nightmare.
    At least you have a nice spread between the rows to tape off and run a fitted block on.

    LOOKS VERY TRICK !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a brush for my variable speed buffer that is abrasive impregnated nylon that I will use to rid the piece of rust and almost polish the surface. I will put up a couple of pictures. Just one minute with the brush is all this took. Now to put some mineral oil on it. The clear mineral oil from the drug store it has no additives in it so nothing bad for your skin to absorb.

    MIKE ROUSE , nice , have never heard of one of those or using it to clean surface of the metal.

    Does the louvers have any draw tails impressions on the ends , if so , how do you plan on dealing with it. ?


    Off to polish the trunk lid area on a 37 ford coupe today with my Meguiars polisher system for my friend rick "the welder " fendley.

    I am not sure what a draw tail is. I guess it is some sort of distortion. If so hammer and dolly work to fix.
    The brush is used as a prep brush to scratch paint surfaces prior to bed lining application.

    Yes that's what I was referring to the distortion tail of the louver. Real tough to get those out, mine are still in the coupes hood. Polished black nitro shows absolutely everything. I have learned to live with it.

    Killbilly I used my English wheel. I wheeled mostly in the middle the 4 corners are kind of flat.
    I fab’d an inner structure from 1’ square tube bent on my ring roller. At the edges I put a sheet metal angle so that I could attach the skin and it would clear the drain gutter around the trunk opening.
    I will look for a picture.

    For the glass measurements, call your local (older the better) glass shop to see if they have the NAGS pattern for your glass. There made patterns for just about every American car ever made.

    It would a big help to have a couple of temples made for horizontal and vertical shape.

    Last Tuesday I went to Rochester NY and picked up my NOS right side 34-35 std running board plus some 1934 Chevrolet master series cowl side panels and rear wheel wells.

    As you can see by first pictures with paint and rust on them and now after a trip to Enviro tech Monday they call me this morning to say, they are ready..........holy smokes batman, that's fast service. The parts go into metal baskets and are submerged in a heated ammonia solution which removes everything that's not iron . After that they are power washed and put into an acid bath to remove all rust. Nothing is harmed, metal is not work hardened like blasting.

    So these will get to be sliced up to fit my 34-35 roadster cowl damaged areas and they are a mess . This will allow a perfect fit for the new metal without resorting to labour intensive time making duplicates. This is the simpler solution.

    Now to push onward with fitting the cowl and hood and rad shell together and line up so I can attach the stamped factory braces and get everything perfect. Then tear down and get to Fawcett motors resto shop to have the panels cut and fitted.

    Those 4 panels cost me $250 + 13% sales tax . Considering your USA $ is worth about .32 cents more to the Canadian $, even considering gasoline your still winning. $1.32 Canadian buys $1.00 USA. Its varies daily.

    Being able to prove your from USA you could probably not have to pay the sale tax. ?

    When I was there a mid 50's chevy truck cab was going out the door, and there were 2 more inside not picked up yet, one looked like a 35-36 chev truck high cab ?? Other not sure. Anything that is not steel should be removed. Door hinges, aluminum fisher body tags, window mechanism .
