Preservation of the original audio in older vehicles (via proper electrical restoration) is FINALLY getting the 'cred' it deserves. This is the first installment of a four-part article series that I am writing. Hope you find it useful. I'll answer any questions you might have. Where do you start down this path? Interesting and timely for me. The instrument panel I am using in my 48 came with a restored stock for the instrument panel radio. Truck will have a hidden head unit for most of the time but that AM radio will be run though two speakers with a fader switch just like the old days and be the only sound system piece showing.
In Part One, we established that we have vehicle power to the connector that feeds the radio. In this part, we examine the speaker when we don't hear the familiar "thump" at power-on. Please read, please comment, and please share. The dashboard you preserve may be your own someday! https://redirad.com/blogs/news/do-i...tor-vehicles-antenna-speaker-and-radio-part-2
