I have been trying to figure how to post pictures for quite a while so part of this is old news for some, but this is a real short update of an 'ol roundy round 32 that I have been saving for over 30 years for "something"...that turns out to be this new ressurection that is going on now with old iron. This is going to start out at Christmas 04 when I pulled the old Flathead (that I used to run in my "now driver" 32 about 35 years ago) out of a shed along with the body and partial frame. From there it will go thru the frame start, mocked up, and first movement the day of the Roundup last year(it was quite a thrash, and I had lots of folks pitch in help from all sorts of ways....thanks guys).
Then I will try to skip to last Christmas, where I pulled the engine and chopped the top a little...all in the idea of streamling to get better gas mileage...hahaha. The second engine is being reworked right now at Jim Cook's place(he is the one shooting the bird at last years drags), doing a little update like adding a blower "to get the gas in quicker"(you know, better mileage and all that stuff. Planning on being ready by Roundup time again(no sweat this time around!)
Now to see if I can make the picture part work....

    Another 32 3W saved.......

Sometimes it amazes me at the number of these 3W coupes left.......70 plus years later....

Yep, thats the one. While trying to get ready for the drags I broke the quick change rearend into two pieces....that was Tues or Weds night before the drags....almost gave it up, until Sig(Brenham QC guy) said we could rebuild it the next day if I could get it to him....got it back together Fri night before the drags, did the break in up and down the highway in front of the drag strip.(kinda like the "good ol days")
Thanks for posting the pics of it out there.:D

Great looking rod. How much did you take out of the top? It looks like just the right amount.

I kinda liked the "sinister" look.....took 5 1/4 out of front, 4 1/2 out of back, and slanted windshield posts instead of adding more it top(streamling trick)

I kinda figured that I would "put him in his place" by showing the picture with the bird, but then again, he likes to fit in that sort of way. Jim and I go waaay back, and contrary to what "he says", "I didn't do it...he did"!!!! .
I'll tell him hi for you(need him to get on this board someday)

I tell folks all the time to "put your intentions out to the universe" and never give up....stuff will happen. I am always amazed at some of the barn finds that come up on this site.
Check out some of the "background" in the attached pics.:D

    Jim,
Are you bringing one of the 32's to the Roundup?....I think you would enjoy the crowd/cars...a lot different than the "standard" rod run:cool: .
PM me an update on Mom please.

Skot I love that gin pole attached to the forklift. I have "height & length" envy. Got one on the back of a tractor, can't do without it. Scares the hell out of my wife, like when I use it to set 30' 10" I beams 10' in the air by myself. Felt bad that day, she watched me and cried. Guess she was afraid I would drop it on her truck!

    Eddie,
I used that many years ago to set the first pipe trusses on the main shop, 20' in the air and 45' long....get this, by myself, couldn't get anybody to help at the time. Up and down the ladder, back and forth, you know the drill, I was determined to get this building up, dangit....I am real thankful for being alive, whenever I think of such things now.

Sooo.... Skotz.... does that mean those other pieces of tin are available?

I remember that coupe at the day of the drags... and scratching my head wondering what was going on there. Musta looked at it 5 times between south congress and the drags.

Probably not the 32 stuff, but MAYBE, some of the antiques and late model stuff....it would take the right situation. I have projects to finish till I am 105, at least that is my story and I'm sticking to it.
