  6. Still chasing down air leaks in the Rivi, and re-modeling my house. With the new job, and daily driver troubles, I won't be back on the T for a while.:(

  7. Got the rest of the patch panels last week, I need to build an electrolysis tank and strip the turtle deck so we can start repairs.

I think that is about the clearance I had on mine and speed bumps are hell on low oil pans.

Looks good so far and I picked up an idea or two for accomplishing some work on one of my projects.

  9. I'll probably put an 1/8" steel skid plate under there. The plan is for nothing to hang below the frame rails.

  10. Kyle came over last night and we started repair work on the turtle deck.

After I cut off the rusty sheetmetal, the structure underneath was mostly sound.

the worst part was the very bottom, so I will weld in a piece of flatbar. I plan to recess the license plate, so the brace will be in the way.

The patch panels were a bit wide, but I think they were made this way on purpose. they have a flange bent over, but the stock panels were laid flat on an existing flange on the body. I think the extra width, and bent over flange, is in case the mounting surface is rusted away, to give extra material to work with. In any case, Kyle trimmed it to width, it fit just right.

The bottom fits flush when held tightly in place, I had to let go to take the picture.

The corners required a bit of finessing, but will work just fine.

May need to do a bit more on this one to mach the curve of the body.

    Thumbs up! Great job Kyle.

Hopefully we will get the panel above the decklid fit and weld everything up tonight.

  12. True! Actually, I had a lot of the grunt work, cutting out the old, done before Kyle got there. I also did the nasty wire wheel work. I leave the stuff that requires talent to those who have it.

Looking good, I missed your call. Phone has been dead since I got back from the 66 trip. I've been working on the A, got the body back on the chassis so at least I can now get the 50 Chevy out to drive it. Are you working on the T again this weekend?

  22. I'm in Florida(Evans)right now; I'll be back Thursday, it's on like Donkey Kong this weekend! I need a hot rod!

  23. Still need to fab or find some patches for the top sides. Anyone have a wasted turtle deck willing to cut the tops off of?
