170+............would like to see some narrower tires on the back. Size of balls deciding factor.

    Here's a text I got from him...

"151 was the best run Sat after one ok run. Had to replace the fuel pump, broke the blower belt. Found another one around 11:00 last night. Will make some runs today. 151 was easy...feels like Sunday driving."

Looks like things are going well. Good luck to him today!

151 was it. I'll let Larry tell ya. Speedjunkie did 157 on a sportster. Big Al did 140 on his sportster.

What a blast!! I will tell more details later this week very tired. Ran a 151 with a very sick motor. Pulled out of the throttle half track held my speed in to the traps. Here are a few pictures

Saturday race conditions were the best i have seen at the mile. I run a hard tail sportster 74 cu in.

1st pass 142mph air speed was pulling the fuel out of the velocity stack, changed to SS cover no filter.

2nd pass 141mph running conservative to make sure i was not leaning out. Motor sounds good.

3rd pass Time to get it on! Geared up from a 21 tooth front to a 22 tooth. Ran balls out from take off to finish 157.875!!!!! [IMG]

Holy Shit that was fast. Like ridding a running horse I could no longer sit on the seat because of the violent ride.

Now as we say in the race world lets see what I can do to slow it down!!!!

    4th pass 23 tooth sprocket 153mph
5th pass advance timing 148 mph
6th pass 25% nitro and put timing back 138mph
OK TAKE A BREAK. I managed to FxxK that up!
7th pass put everything back like second run 152mph
    8th pass 153mph
Sunday 1 pass with 2 cameras mounted and a less favorable conditions 138mph

  20. Glad you're back safe Larry, what happened to the motor?

For sure I have blown a head gasket in between number 1 and 3 . I will be tearing down the motor tonight to see if I can make the round up.

For the guys that live near this event and have not gone you are missing out. It is not about hot rods are one type of car its just about going fast and it is also very safe at least the conditions are. I will be doing my best to going out in October again blew both head gaskets and will need work done to the heads to fix them but thats racing. Will post more photos
