So the project model A will hit the road soon and im trying to get legit on title and plates. Im looking for a set of 1944 Texas plates to run on my 31. Does anyone have a source for early plates?

Also a question if anyone knows, can I run the 44 plates on a 31 or am I gonna get some trouble with the DMV on that?

In case your wondering the reason I want the 44s on a 31 is because thats when my Dad was born and hes helping me build the car so its sort of a "Tribute to Dad" thing. :)

But there's nothing stopping you from owning a '44 Ford - as long as it looks like a Jeep!

Seriously, if it's modified enough, you may be able to title it as a '41, '42, '46-'48 and run one of those plates.

Texas didn't issue license plates in '43 and '44. They just issued small tags that went on your previous plate.

Yea after more seaching last night I found out about the war years in Texas and the lack of those plates here. Plus the whole mix match year thing, looks like Ill be getting some 31 plates anyways.

Let me know if you need a source. I know a dealer from over there.

Let me know if you need a '43 plate. This little guy has been hanging around my junk cabinet for a while.
