Glad someone got some good pics of that barrel cause it was freaking bad ass...not to mention a life saver. Thanks again for the support guys...
Torques, Texas Thawers, HAMBers, and others, There are some more great pics of our event last weekend on the web at: www.maxcacklephotos.com . These are by Chris Graves, who is a fuel car guy and the Great Official Documenter for those wild and wooly Outlaw Fuel Altered Association cars that ran with the Southwest Junior Fuel cars and all the rest of us under the banner of the Texas Timing Association there at the Texas Thaw at Northstar Raceway. That was good drag racing, people. Let's do it some more! Ed Miller Race Director Texas Timing Association
Great pics Dave! Always great to see the coolest family in Texas. You need to come up with a better excuse on why you couldnt race though, I could tell you were duckin me ;-) Buzzard does the same thing. E.
BoomBoom said: Winning gas/roadster DOD 06 and proud member of the 100MPH club-Winning gas/roadster Texas Thaw 2008 We gonna have to do something about that! We had a great time racing you and look forward to seeing you again. Oh yea, we're the Winning gas/roadster DOD 07 and runner up gas/roadster Texas Thaw 2008<!-- / sig -->
I hear ya, I hear ya. You just keep squawkin over there. The rematch is coming and I'm using all 8 cylinders next time.
"Oh yea, we're the Winning gas/roadster DOD 07 and runner up gas/roadster Texas Thaw 2008" Salt racer, Man it was great meetin the Louisanna HAMB boys! Being there was only two B/Roadsters we really matched up well! Man those races were all close!! I had to quit while I was ahead. Glad you won DOD 07.......Oh wait...I wasnt there ;-) Hope to see you guys at the RoundUp and definitly at the DOD 08! Ed "boomboom" Cannon
I had a great time! Thanks to the Torques for putting it on or there wouldn't be such a cool event in North Texas. That being said, I don't want to sound like I am complaining toward the organizers or track, but what was the deal with all those "real" hot rods that stayed parked the whole time? I'm not talking the guys who ran and broke something and didn't have much choice. Can't wait till next year though! Hope there is more participation from the driver cars.
I thought the drags were a little slow at first but got going mid day. I wonder if the cold temp could have slowed some people down?
my favorite shot of the day. You guys put on a cool little event-I sure plan on being back next time!
Make no mistake about it there are not many opportunities to make that many passes in a week much less in 3 hrs one evening and then 7 hours the next day. You and Casey need nicknames like the punishers or something.LOL
I think 26 runs is great. In 10hr that would be what 1 run Evey 20 minuet or so? what were you driving?
I passed along the unedited version of that photo tonight. I think Big Ken is going to put all of then on his photobucket. You will be able to coppy it from there.
