All, I recently got my '41 switched over to a Texas title and '41 YOM plates. I received the new title in the mail yesterday and I noticed that they included the YOM plate number on the title. I don't know that its a huge deal, but does it cause any issues? Only thing i can thing of would be in the event of selling it and me wanting to keep the 1941 Texas plates.
If it is that big of a deal to you you would probably have to register the car with regular plates before you went to sell it.
It makes no difference when the buyer goes to transfer the title into their name. You can keep the plates, or you can charge them a little more if you want to include the YOM plates in the sale.
The year of model plates used to not transfer. They may have changed the rules. They were like personal plates.
When I purchased my Model A the seller included them. I just had to take them down to the tax office for inspection when I did the title transfer. I had to take them back in for inspection when I did my renewal after five years.
Glad it worked for you. Tarrant with classic plates. No inspection. Now you pay an inspection fee but do have to get it inspected???
Keep the plates if you sell it. Next owner has to do a title change, and will have whatever plates he uses added to his title.
