had a set of headers modified by shonenfeild for this car,and they got close, we put new collectors on at diff angle and then turnouts to get axhaust away from body / frame and the salt. looking good.. aug is gettin close
Your project is coming on nicely Is the cage fully removable without taking the body off the frame? Its a great looking setup.
for now it is but i think it is gonna be permanent when it goes in for final time, we have to add a front set of bars around feet and that will makie it non removeable... thanks
makin headway , got the 32 aluminum toneau cover reshaped for the 29 on the wheel, hood made and starting to take shape...
lot of changes since the last update 29 days to race, we filled the frame rails with 550 lbs of number 7 led shot, coated the headers and all the suspensin is at the coaters, body work next week or so and then paint. cage is modified and ready for paint. eng is here from builder 670 hp sbc. 4 speed. stay tuned ill keep ya posted often to the end .. watch for it at bonn this year red and silver number 389. sam

today we got all the seals made and installed under and around the cage on the floor , built a new shifter handle 14 incher, starting to install wiring and msd. got the lead bomb installed on p*** side 75 lbs of lead hehe... two new batteies, fuel lines made , headlights goin on. shifter adjusted, and padding started on cage.
The car looks so good Sam. I know what it is like to be in your position. Lots of work and just a few days to get it done. Throw in this heat and you need to be careful and pace yourself. You need to save enough strength for a Utah Death March. I will be following your progress. Good luck. John
hey buddy, john, good to hear from ya, i think it will make it, talked to three inspectors today and got my fire nozzle helment pad , inertia switch for fuel system issues taken care of. should fire it this week i think, lookin to send it home to texas the 6th . and fly to salt lake the 12th to start the week.
another 106degre day in the shade. got alot of wiring done, radiator hose on, tach, switches in, batt cables built and installed, roll bar padding on, fuel pump ounted and plumbed, inner rear fenders linered with rubberized liner ... wheels on brakes bled... not a bad day, tomorrow is fire bottles and lines day for one...stay tuned looks like only 105 tomorrow...
well we are on schedule, fired it today sounds killer, no leaks etc. got the cowl back on, fire bottle lines all run nozlles mounted, parachute release handle and cable installed, the harness installed and seat bolted in for last time... ....
will be at the bend with bruce in motor home through the 17th see ya and you can buy the first one...
one week left and it goes home, so the driver can get some bail out practice and lettering done on it. This has been a whirlwind fast build roughly three months start to finish...so you see, we can build something besides g***ers and good guys cars hehe....
