Can I replace the kickdown cable on a TH350 without dropping the ****** pan? And with the transmission installed in the car? I put a different carb on the engine (a Chevy 350) and the current cable seems a little short. Maybe it can be adjusted, I'm not sure without being right in front of it. I'm not even sure if there is a throttle/kickdown bracket mounted. Seems like I remember the throttle cable just laying in there without a bracket.
Yes it can be replaced without dropping pan, but make sure you have the right bracket for it at the crb/top end. It's what holds the outer cable.
4 barrel carb kick down brackets are easy to find and even supported via the aftermarket. A 2 barrel kick down bracket well, one will have to search for a used one.
There should be an adjustment on the cable where it mounts to the bracket. Adjust it for proper opening and you're all set.
