30 years ago, I would'a gave my left nut to have a lift to pull a trans or overhaul a rear end on. Now that i have one , I find it easier to stab a 4 speed from the floor...:eek::confused::cool: WTF... ;)

Wonder if Hooker, or Tru Hams fit tighter.. want to reduce heat under hood, quiet down for this set up.

OEM fit's the best... 2.5" are easy to get, and cheap, too... Relatively speaking, of course... ;)

My problem is, OEM rams won't clear frame, straight rails, would narrow front next time.

I see Hooker & Flotech makes iron rams too.

Actually put some time on it. Cooling sys holding water, need matched dual water pump belts for GM pulleys. Ended up using a spare Alum water pump had in inventory. Looks like it might work. 20230909_190010.jpg 20230909_190110.jpg 20230909_185758.jpg

Moved wiring, temp Guage. Then mocked up 2in manifolds. Need flange over about an inch toward block at flange.

    Removed MSD box, dist, wiring.

Going to use conventional simple distributor for this street engine.

Today, cranking, oil pressure, fuel pressure. Static timed.

    Charging battery.

Tomorrow it's throttle cable, and it should run and set timing.

Thames fired up. Put headers on, until I get manifolds with correct offset figured out.

Developed a small fuel leak at elec fuel pump.

Back of engine had 2 oil leaks. It appears old valve covers not clamping ends well, going to put Moroso covers on, and add OFFY breathers on intake side.

Got 15 minutes of elevated idle, kept sounding better, water temp moderate, elec fan cycled.

Swinging by Alt shop, for an inline diode to fix power Master Mini alternator draw. Used a toggle switch for a while, PITA. Found out dang thing has wrong regulator, ordered self excited reg.

    Until then, testing Alt stock.

Getting closer..... all lights working. Only using low beams. Brake lights, turn signals is next.

Alt indicator light works perfect on start up.

Added 15gal fuel capacity. Will need a cover with sealed hose exits. Removed small tank and filter up front. Looks like room fir possible air dam to bring more air to radiator. 20230929_155633.jpg 20230929_155625.jpg 20230929_155527.jpg 20230929_155545.jpg

Someday. Wire nuts are my friend..... my Dad was a master at using them...

I have to put smaller Guage wiring for turn signals back in yet. Then after it proves durable I night update it. I actually want to put a plug up here, to make hood removal easier.

Next for my 3.42 limited slip 63 drop out carrier, then clean inspect and install. Have new axles, for it.

Old Henry's Spool might go up for sale.

Found it, clean. I took this out of a 63, 17yr ago. Should only need clean, adj, reseal.

I know they are hideous..... not sure I can even use them as rollers.

They were free, should have been paid to take them.
