Just wanted to reach out and thank everyone who helped me with all the A suspension questions I had. Found one today I bought. 29 model 50 roadster. The body is really good all and all. Totally rust free. The doors are welded shut, but whatever. Little 283, but more than enough B&M TH400 P&J front end Speedway quick change rear end Boxed frame Drive train only has 500 miles or so on it. Lots of other goodies. You all have no idea how much grief you saved me. It needs a minor alignment, but it seems that this is the front end to cure most all headaches. Had it up to 70. A mix between fun and terror. Handled really well, but gunna have to get used to the "openness" Someday I may find a coupe body and go that route, but for now I'll enjoy the hell out of these 80 degree nights. Thanks again all! You really are a huge help to a pre war noob.
That's a relief. And thanks for the feedback. The rear looks like a coupe. (with the roof cut off obviously.) Combo of body parts, maybe why the doors are welded. As long as it safely stops and steers you can fiddle with the rest.
Kinda windy, huh? Get yourself a good motorcycle goggles and a leather football or racing helmet. You'll be the talk of the town and the wind won't batter your eyeballs or mess up your hairdo.
Good idea! **** keeps getting in my eyes fro. The side. Last thing I want is a yellow jacket hitting by eyeball at 50mph. Had one hit my neck once with the window down on the freeway and it made a lasting memory.
Congratulations and welcome to the club! Can't tell by the pic, is your head in the windstream, or below the windshield frame? Might get the seat lower if not. Also, might invest in a set of wind wings to deflect some of the blast. There's no ride like a Roadster ride. Like a bike, but not as likely to tip over. Have fun!
A couple of things. Pictures of cars parked look great, but when moving things get real windy and cooler above 20mph. And at anything close to highway speeds rain is like needles. Cold needles. And that's any time of year!
I love to see what people come up with. Some of the rat rod stuff I really like, most is like a kid trying really hard to be angry for no reason. I think I found a real honest little hot rod. It's safe, built with safety in mind and is crazy fun on these summer nights
Thanks. I have about 2" of head above. Just enough to make a baseball hat risky above 50. Wind wings are coming in a week. Lots of **** in the air so I'm finding out
I like those wheels with the fit-n-finish of the bodywork. They make a statement together that makes me say, "Yup".
