  1. You, Brad, YOU think I should go lower? You're kidding???!!!

Oh, wait a minute, I forgot that you are the king of "Limbo, limbo how low can I go?"

Yup, agreed. Jack's axle drops it what you've suggested. Oughtta be the ticket. Thanks for you kind comments. You da man.

Pictures don't even do this truck justice.
Glad I got to see it in person and can't wait to check it out after the front end changes.
    Go Pete!

PS: let me know when you're tripping down to Jacks. Maybe I can get out of the woods for a while...

    Sounds good... Keep us posted.

Keep an eye out for a manifold such as this one pictured- an original Thickstun PM-7 which were designed in '48. Very period and cool. I really like the way the Hi-Rise intakes fill up the engine bay.

Again, you will notice quite a difference when you give it an extra carb. Whoever has run both will attest to this... I hope. :D

  5. Yet another cylinder head variation I found, thanks to Doug at Joe Smith Early Ford. This set of heads came out of his bin. The heads are not Gennie Ford, but replacement heads from an unknown manufacturer. Note that the configuration is very similar to much later 8ba design: symmetrical and plug in the center of the chamber. They cc'd out to 58 ccs and that puts the compression ratio at a notch below 8:1.

A desirable set- due to the higher ratio- but unfortunately cracked- as were every other set I've found in this design. The casting quality just wasn't there. What a shame.
