I am proud to say I voted for it. I remember the first pics I saw of it running around on the salt. The perfect roadster in my mind.

Yea! My pick won. You're right, "There was some stiff competition." I just loved your car from 1st sight. I REALLY love the Studebaker hub caps. Congrats.....

Congrats to you and that BITCHIN' car! I also recall first seeing it at Viva back in '03 or '04 (?) and thinking I couldn't wait until the car matched the firewall and Studey mill!

Hey Tom, Congrats! It was nice to see your Roadster in Bare Metal. I could dream in my head what I could see it as or.......Like a blank canvas. As said, it was fun to follow your Hot Rod from the beginnings to the Brilliant completion. I can only imagine if your build was never shown, people would be given a bigger blow. Every single item, fab, color, etc. is the Epitome of a Hot Rod. Very well deserve to you, family, and Fabian!

Congratulations !,... But I have a request,.... sense your the recipient of the first ever
Jalopy Journal GNRS "Best Roadster" award,... how about a full build thread with all the statistics and pictures of the build ? I think it would make a good read and a very important addition to the HAMB,.... IMHO

I would love to see that.

It is always great to see a nice guy with great taste, a great family, and a KILLER CAR come out on top in this crazy world.

    Congrats!

What I wanna see someday is the 10th anniversary of this award at the GNRS with all ten winners in the Suede Palace.

    Start planning today Ryan.

And for the other nine, the first car has set a high and awesome standard!

Edit question: What color gold is the car?

Very well deserved, not that the others aren't deserving as well, but your car has come out a treat, but then I'm biased towards 32 roadsters.

  16. Congratulations Tom! Your car is a legend in it's own time and going down in history.

    Well deserved man, well deserved....

I talked to Fabian a little at the show, didn't see you.. or maybe didn't recognize you with the beard.. haha

I didn't get to vote (was on the road) but it would've been hard to choose between your roadster & the one Jimmy (White) built... I'm very partial to 33 Fords..

Congrats Tom! It's well deserved. The car looks stunning in paint. A job well done. Pop sends his kudos as well.

I would look great in that! :D

Awesome car, great work, congratulations to all involved on the well-deserved award.

I don't see why cars like this don't win AMBR every year. I guess because it's less about "beauty" and more about "points and popularity." Thanks to the Hamb for pointing out the problem, and addressing it. That is truly this year's AMBR.

I'd like to see the buildup too...

  23. A bunch of us came out from the right coast for our first GNRS, only to be excited to see a typical east coast channeled '32! It was one of only a couple cars I took a photo of...and now I know why.
    It's just the best.

    Congrats to everyone recognized!

I think it's great that we do things like this around here!

    Tom,

Congratulations! Your car is amazing! As you can tell from my Avitar...I am partial to channeled roadsters done in the late 50's early 60's style.
