Yes, please be safe - remember how important you are to your wife and kids. Your house and things can be replaced but you cannot.

  6. I just woke up,10 min's ago. Looks like i'm okay. It's still burning outside, but it's west of me now. The Chino Hills fire is still going. I'm gonna go for a walk and see what's up.
I watered everything down around 3AM,then went to sleep. My wife just called to see if I was still breathing,lol...
Thanks again guys...I'm not stupid! I'm not about to take any chances with my life, but I can't just leave and not try to save my house! I'll get some more pic's if I can.

Glad things are looking up for you Bob.
Here's a photo of our fire we had in April just north of our house. It sure make you thankful for the firefighters and the police who kept the looky-loos away.

We are 25 miles northwest of your town and it really smells of smoke.
It was 85 degrees here yesterday. which was making for a really nice evening, but we had to close the doors and windows because of the smoky smell.
    Hang in there, Doug

  14. Good luck Bob...the fires do some crazy stuff and sometimes circle back on themselves...last year the fires in Ramona moved away from my place and the were back on top 2 days later and burned right up to our fenceline...luckily for us I had cut every last bit of brush out after my daughter was bitten by a rattler...be safe! Prayers to you and all of the rest of you in the fire's path

  15. Here's what it looks like now,8:30. This is just north/west of me. BUT STILL about 1/4 mile from me! Unless the wind changes directions, and starts blowing south/east,i'm okay.

Damn Bob! Hope everything turns out ok man. When I was stationed at Pendelton in 93-94 we sat outside the barracks watching the hills burn. It was pretty close, but not as close as your pics. That's scary shit watching that wall of flames creep your way.

  20. Keep fighting the good fight, Bob. Ash is piled up here, in Lakewood, like snow drifts. We're all praying for an end to this crap.

all my fingers are crossed for all you guys, Wanna swap, we've had rain for a week here?? Seriously, stay safe.

  22. Best of luck to you, Bob. Looks like you are in good shape, so long as the wind stays as it is. I've got a nephew that lives maybe five miles from you, and I have no idea if he's OK or not. I should call my sister this morning and see if she has heard anything.

Fire season with you guys is like tornado season in my part of the country.

Bob have you backed up your hard drive lately? May only be a priority if the winds shift but I certainly hope they don't. Be safe buddy.

  27. Hey Bob, been watching it all night and morning. Looks like you guys are in the clear for now.
When it jumped the 91 yesterday, we hooked up the horse trailer and got things ready. Luckily it didn't continue south. Last years fires came too close to the horses and we learned how quickly it can change direction and cause destruction, Weasel knows this too well to, must live in Modjeska or Silverado? We had a historical car in Silverado and after being evacuated one guy snuck back in and drove it out - over the hoses and around the trucks!

Been stuck in some of Australias biggest fires both as a victum (Burnt out twice) and fighting them. Stay safe mate.

WOW!! Been following the story of this fire. Be Careful. Keep everything wet, as others have said.
It is just unimaginable to me, what it must feel like to be there, in the midst of all that. You're in my prayers.

    Scott
