I'm an active duty Air Force Staff Sergeant serving in Afghanistan and my job is an Aircraft Structural Maintenance craftsman (sheet metal fab). I just want to say thanks to the Austin Speed Shop crew for sending a care package out here to me in Afghanistan. Everyday here seems like groundhog day doing the same thing day in and day out, basically working and sleeping. But today was different, got an awesome package from A.S.S. full of goodies. Also thanks to the HAMB for giving me something to do in my down time . To all the guys in the Iron Lords cc... Hope yall have a good time at Dustins party and a good show season, lookin forward to coming back and cruisin the olds up there for a visit. And for yall that didnt know my wife got pregnant about 2 months before I left and shes due in October so I'll be back for the pregnancy, oh and its a boy! So everyone go outside, breathe the fresh air, look at the green lush plants and trees and drive your hot rod or custom for me!! CHECK PAGE 4 POST 79 FOR VIDEOS!!
Thanks for your service. It is because of the young men and women like yourself that we can enjoy the finer things in life!
Thanks from state side! Are there other rodders over there? Have you seen anything close to a Hot Rod in Afghanistan?
Thanks! ^^^ BTW stupid question but I need to order new plug wire for my olds so I can change it out when I get home and I would like to have it wating on me but... I forgot to measure the plug wires before I left to figure out how much I need to order, and dont really wanna tell the wife to start pulling them off and measuring haha. Im wanting to run the cloth style wires. So if there is anyone with a 303 rocket olds that has ordered aftermarket wires and knows a rough estimate of what length I should order I would appreciate it... Thanks!
MATACONCEPTS Nothing close to a hot rod here haha... lots of toyotas TATAs (yes thats a car brand here) Big ass MRAP military vehicles and lots of bad ass aircraft, (my specialty) I'll load some photos up here for yall to see next Thursday I'll have a day off so I can up load them then. As for meeting people into rodding, not really... A guy in my shop is into them so we sit around and talk about it a bit but no one here from the HAMB or anything that i've met yet.

Where are you at in Afg? I'm headed back over to Bagram in July. Was supposed to come over earlier, but got postponed,so I'm here at Ft. Bragg until then. I'll be bringing some items to the Wounded Warrior camp so they can get Norwell Equipped! I travel all over Afg, so I'll look ya up when i get there.
Yall remember next time it rains on ya or the weather doesnt work out quite the way you wanted it too... trust me it could be worse! Id love to see some rain or atleast breathe air that isnt filled with dust! haha Everytime I deploy it definitely hits home and makes you more thankful for things you took for granted. @negativeMATT Im at Kandahar Air Field in the 451st mxs squadron... Good stuff helpin out the wounded warrior camp! God Speed with you brother!
Seriously, everyone on this board should be thanking YOU for your service to this great country. Stay safe!!
I like tats! we have a bumper sticker that say's SAVE THE TATAS!& i seen some chop top tatas at walmart, Hey-Colville seriously thanks for all you do!
Thanks for your service. I was in Kandahar in 2009/10. I don't know how long you've been there but be carefull what you wish for in the way of rain. We got flooded across the airfield on the Army side during the Super Bowl. We took on about 18 inches inside the clamshells. I doesn't rain much but when it does it's like everything else there, it sucks bad. Keep your head down during those rocket attacks and come home soon. Oh yeah, and don't spend too much money at the Boardwalk or the Bizare. Tim Horton's still around?
@dicks beaters Yeah we had rain when I first got here... Being this place is in a valley it did get pretty shitty but atleast it made it fresher air to breathe, the damn poop pond over here is horrific!! As far as rockets there's only been about 12 since I been here... The last one was around 100 yards from our shop... Pretty crazy but keeps things interesting haha. We do carry fully loaded Assualt rifles everywhere with us here though Haven't been spending much of anything here money wise, gotta save up for the new baby and the '53 ofcourse I'm posting with my phone right now so I'm going to try and post a few photos Afgahnistan sunset Bad ass MRAP C-130 gunship leading edge damage removed and ready for a flush patch Took quite a while to upload these with my phone so I'll load more later with my lap top
