This is the first I've heard. Dunno what to say............ My sincere condolences to his family and friends.......... God Speed Scott.............
So long Scott, It won't be the same in funny car without you ... Best wishes to your family , You will always be remembered as a champion .
sorry about your friend jesse, im so sorry for you and scotts familys loss, your in my prayers. we will miss watching scott at the drags.
I have watched the wreck 3 times now on ESPN and I am convinced he was out or even possilby gone before he went off the end. There are no signs he tried to stop the car and all I can hope is that the explosion knocked him unconscious. God Bless Scott and the entire Kalitta family.
this sure is sad news. it seems that nowadays it's a rare thing for a funny car to make a complete pass without catching fire, blowing a motor, etc, etc. my dad commented that the track is way too short.
Damn...Heart aches for family, friends and fans... Great loss to this great sport...RIP Great shots of Jesse's ol WCC Sponsored Top Fueler..great memories
rip scott. thanks for sharing your pix jesse. i thought that i read were a photogrpher also died. any info on that.
Here's an article with analysis by the Snake.... I think it's shame Scott died. Hold up his family & crew in your thoughts and prayers. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/motor/nhra/2008-06-21-kalitta-death_N.htm?csp=34

Scott, lived the dream, and inspired so many, you will be dearly missed. My condolences to his family and friends. Jessie, it had to be tough to bring us this news, were here for you too. Losing close friends, makes all of us "family" closer when it really counts.
Man, Scott growed up at the track, what he did at the drag strip was second nature to him, this is where he was most comfortable. He loved his family and his racing family.
Jesse, I'm sorry for the personal loss of your friend. I didn't know Scott, but as an avid fan, I somehow feel a connection...it's tuff for me...must be near impossible for you. My guess is you'll be in touch with Connie Kalitta and the Kalitta Motorsports family. I think I can speak for everyone when we ask you to please pass along our sorrow and condolences - from the entire HAMB family.
