It all began a little over 2 years ago. "Little Al" Schramm had been talking with his dad ("Big Al") about these little dragsters that were popping up around here. Larry Jones from the Hornets and "Big Al" had been friends for years, and I suspect that Larry was the catalyst that got the Schramms interested in the Ha/Gr cars. With "Little Al" being up to his neck in the nostalgia top fuel game, he suggested that I build a Ha/Gr and have the Schramms on the team. Wow, who knew we would grow to be such good friends and have so much fun.

There are so many stories that I could tell about how the car got built, going on road trips to pick up parts, or just sitting in the garage drinking a beer and listening to "Big Al" tell us kids how to do things the right way.:) I have shared most of those stories already, so I won't repeat them here. Just suffice it to say I wouldn't trade the memories for anything.

Over the course of these two years I have built and raced my first car, learned so much about cars, racing, and even a bit about life and friendship. The journey has been fun, frustrating, exciting and sad.

Some of you laughed with/at me when I made mistakes and patted me on the back when I had successes. I cherish all of those moments.

Obviously I have sold the Crooked 6 and my Ha/Gr journey has come to an end but I really felt I needed to thank all of you for your support, advice, and friendship. I don't really want to mention names for fear of forgetting someone. Please know, though, that I remember all the things that you guys have done for me and if any of you need anything don't hesitate to ask. I will do my best to help.

    Thanks again to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. You did well, especially considering it was your first. The journey always has its ups and downs, but in hindsight, we're all the better for it. Fear not, the 'Crooked 6' spirit lives....;) :D

    Cheers,

The crooked six inspired us to build a bigger better engine for our roadster the Krylon Special. Your car was the driving force ( or at least a very large part of it) to get us started on our hambster.
Hopefully we will see ya around in our travels.

I now understand that the name "Crooked 6" had nothing to do with his penile implant!
