Since it is requested, I am posting my Intro. My name is Andrew Anderson. I haved owned a 1929 Roadster pickup since high school. I have been in the "streedrod" scene since that time. I was about to hang it up. I am sick of going to shows only to look at other guys sitting in a lawn chair. I hate sitting around. I hate looking at trailered cars. Like I said, I was about to quit until John Ware informed me about a car show and band playing (called High School Caesar) in the Dallas area at a new bar located off Grapevine Highway. The event started at 9:30 p.m. I was concerned. Who has a car show at 9:30? Nevertheless, I went. You see I even questioned a car show starting that late . . . I was almost fell into the monotony of the NSRA, etc. Hands-down it was the best time I have ever had in my car! Like minded people who played music and had a good time. The members of the band even hung out and drank some beer and talked about thier 23 Fords. (Too bad they drvie such a small car as they cannot carry thier tools of the trade!) Everyone was very welcoming and I had the best time ever. However, the roller derby girls were the most fun to watch! I have built my car (all except paint and threads). My father has a 29 coupe, 37 coupe and a 57 F-100 that I help on from time to time. I like to keep cars simple so I can continue to enjoy working on it. However, my car has been done since high school as it is more fun to drive then to work on it. As far as my taste is concerned: Billet is not my friend. However, I am a*****er for nickel plating. I love old school hot rods, but I am also into road racing and off roading. I love anything with a motor. I am looking forward to passing the torch (so to speak) to other hot rodders that hate lawn chairs.
Welcome! You must have caught them on a good night, everyone in High School Ceasar is usually a giant****hole...especially the lead singer.... Have any pics of your '29? Going to the Roundup??
Man, if you thought those*****s and their jalopies were cool, the Roundup will explode your head. www.lonestarroundup.com
Welcome... It was nice meeting you. Thanks for the good words about the band. I had a great time playing Sat night once the feedback issues were solved! Your p/u is super clean! Welcome-O-Board! BTW:I like lawn chairs. Where else can you pass out after toooo many beers?Plus, they're usually made for outdoor use so if you have the occasional drunken accident.... it's all good !

I cannot beleive the showing of support! Thank you . . . and yes, I feel at home already. I thought I was the only freak on the planet. I looked at each of your profiles and really like the metal that I see! I would like to post pictures, but it seems that my files are too big or somthing. I hate computers. I am working on going to Austin. I can only leave on Saturday morning. Is anyone else from the DFW (Dallas) area leaving then? I also need to find a hotel. Does the Continental Club have parking near by or do you guys take a taxi or some other way to get there. From the pictures it looks like it is on a main drag with first come first served parking. Is there another "overflow" area to park when you watch the shows?
The members of the band even hung out and drank some beer and talked about thier 23 Fords. those guys, drink? naw. musta been somebody else.
