History Thanks to the HAMB, my dad and his pickup are going to be on TV!

***THE FIRST AIRING WILL BE TONIGHT 10/19 DURING THE 5TH INNING OF THE BASEBALL GAME!!!***




I had posted this pic of my dad's pickup on my build thread. I first saw it when I was 11 or 12 and first becoming really interested in cars. It stuck with me ever since. It is the inspiration for my pickup and my pickup is a tribute to my dad.

So a month or so ago, I get a PM from some ad exec in San Francisco. They saw the pic and liked it and the story very much. They joined here to PM me. Turns out they were interested in using it for the upcoming Chevy Centennial ad for Chevy's 100th anniversary.

I was totally sure this would never happen. I was wrong. His picture made the final cut for the commercial. It will first air on 10/20 during the World Series.

My dad and I are floored. And excited. I just thought I'd share and say thanks for the HAMB and all you guys here.

Congrats on having your dad's photo picked for the add. Those Chevy truck adds with the old photos or movie clips in them are great stuff. I was going to watch the game anyhow if I wasn't working and now I'll have to watch the commercials. I might have to dvr that game.

That's what I call a home run! Usually, my hot rod activities and baseball are in opposition to each other. Now, I'll be able to watch a little baseball and see your dad's truck, too!! Congrats to you both on being selected, and a tip of the cap to those Chevy execs for having the foresight to create such a production and knowing where to go to get the right material.
