God, I love a happy ending. Happy thanksgiving to all. Congratulations on being among the few people I know of, who actually got better after back surgery! They sure got some good Dr's in Texas.

Good that you can now face the day without that nagging villian stalking you. For those who have never had chronic pain they do not have a clue. I'm into a half dozen surgerys and counting, hope to have that freedom some day.
To count the many blessings that are enjoyed on a daily (minute by minute actually) basis would take pages but Im sure you know the feeling. To have Marcie and those two little ones has got to be like winning the lottery a hundred times over.
Thank you for the HAMB and all it has become to so many. You have done a wonderful thing for so many folks so take comfort that your efforts are much appreciated. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

    Ryan,

I am coming up on a years time here on HAMB and didn't know that you were in that bad of shape. So, I am glad you shared a bit of your personal life with us and that you're doing a lot better. I hate to think what your past years of pain have been like. Your Wendy's revelation of a pain-free life is great to hear. Plus we got to see the softer side of Ryan, you big lug!

I am thankful that you took your passion for Hot Rods and created the ultimate place to hang out for the rest of us. You're a giver!!!

HAMBy Thanksgiving to you and yours!!

Ryan, we're all glad you've finally gotten relief. I think I'm bad off 'til I see someone worse off, and them I'm kinda ashamed of myself for the pity bag I was in. Take it easy , and don't try too much at once. And pleeze, which one of the kids are you? We don't think you're the turkey, the little girl is way too cute, and that leaves the 2 boys. Which one????????

Thanks Ryan, and all on this site. You folks provide a heck of a lot of entertainment for me. I'm logged on most of the time and cruise around on here daily.
    Carry on all!

I am so happy for you, Ryan. Some of us know how debilitating back pain can be. I had some pain for about a year myself and can confirm.

At any rate, enjoy your new gift of no pain and keep bringing us these great stories and images.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Angie and I are so glad to hear that you'll get to hold Miller and PJ without pain anymore. I can't imagine the difference in your life that this will make.

Also, since you will be feeling better, I challenge you to a drag race at the next event we can both make. My coupe and your '38 are too close to have not raced yet. Now that you'll be able to shift hard again, it should be fun.

  15. Like I've said before, "I think it's cool when a plan comes together" so if it's hot-rods, people, or everyday life !! Happy Thanksgiving to all from the Pro >>>>.

Ditto what they all said! We are all thankfull for all you do and that you finally got relief. I screwed my back 20 years ago (i was 23) thought I could do anything. Lesson here for all the younger HAMBERS, "ya only got one spine"! Take real good care if it.

Good advice on the spine, but you need to check out ANYBODY that fools with your back! I have a "back-cracker" & he treats it as a quick "frame alignment" when I need it, nothing more. He sent my ex to PT, instead of surgery. Every case is different & every Dr is too.

Glad to see that you're having a Happy Turkey Day!

Very well said........Dr Dan is not the best, he is THE VERY BEST. He is a rarity, a fine doctor who stays up with research and is one of very few investigational surgeons around (He is so good that he is qualified to do procedures that others can't). He truly gives a shit about his patients. On top of all that, he is a hell of a guy and knows cars. How did a neurosurgeon get to be a gearhead? He is the real deal.

I am dreading what they want to do to me, the broken vertebra in my neck are starting to flare up a lot, the discs have degenerated and are pinching. Numbness, buzzing, and pain, you described it as only a person who is going through it can. It's a scary procedure they want to do so right now I am trying to click my heels together and say "there's no place like home, there's no place like home" I am really glad that your procedure worked out well. It choked me up a little because I know where you are coming from. Thanksgiving is every day you get with the people you care about.

Thank you for giving us a place to share "the gospel" that only gearheads can translate, and make friends who still care about this "old stuff". I sure would like to hear some more video of your Model A. I could listen to that cha-chunka, cha-chunka of a hot flattie all day!

Happy Thanksgiving, and a toast to your health.
