My Henry J is Henry. My '36 Ford pickup is the gray truck, well, because it's painted gray.

My OT '93 2500 Suburban with a 454 was the family vacation wagon. Lots of adventures. My kids LOVED that car. 450,000 miles when I sold it. It was a thirsty mf but it's name was "The Behemoth". Had a sticker with the name made for it at a car show. When I finally let it go because I had no more use for the gas guzzler, the guy that bought it brought his 8 year old daughter along to look at it. After spying the sticker on the barn door window the guy says, "Look honey. It already even has a name!"
My '30 A hot rod is "The Fast AF Coupe". My initials are "AF". It's got a flatty in it so it really should be "The Slow AF Coupe" though :D.

I usually call them "the old truck" or "the old car". I'm not in the name that car club.

The 57 Ford Fairlane 500 I pulled out of a pasture and got road worthy is named Annie . When I was cleaning out the car I pulled the remains of a Star , National Enquirer and a Playboy from May of 67 from under the front seat . The centerfolds name Anne Randall . So the car was named Annie . I called the Lady I had bought the car from and told Her what I named the car . She burst into tears . I asked what was wrong. She replied that was the nick name Her late Father would call her when He would tease Her . I put the remains of the mouse chewed Play Boy in a ziplock bag and back under the front seat .

"ShitBox" was on all of my race cars, Midgets and Sprint cars, I saw it on the Bogar 99 sprint car, driver Jan Opperman, I liked it and used it. ^ This Side Up^ was painted on the front tube of the roll cage on one one of my Midgets after a total rebuild as a reminder for me from the sign painter as I hurt myself badly in this "ShitBox" the sign painter was a friend and fellow racer, guessing it worked as I raced several more years and never turned one over again and did not spend anymore sheet time, Been there, Done that.

Well...maybe I could call her Dimples, or golf ball.....see pic. LOL Every blue piece of tape is a dent. Other side is just as bad as well as the front fenders and back of the cab (which has no blue tape). Every time I walk by I see another dent that I missed and then I get out the blue tape. Pretty soon I'll try my hand at hammer and dollying them all out.

  11. I have a cab corner for that body style, hanging on the wall. I'm not sure which side, but if you need it you can have it

I had an OT car with the plate BRW-101. My friends named her Big Round Woman. I call my present OT car UNA, again, the plate.

My wife always asks if we are going to take the "Chibby", so I guess that's the cars name. Sometimes I call it "oh no, not again".

  20. I've never understood the need for ego-strokes like naming a car. I remember the '50s and '60 when guys would name their car after a popular song... kind of weird and juvenile in my book.

  21. I really don't think my wife does it for an ego stroke, but I'm not sure, maybe she does. You're so God damn funny.

If I was gonna name my cars for ego stroke, I'd name it "cooler than you" or "I'm rich bitch" or something like that....

I used to know a dude whose vette vanity plate said NUVORCH, that's probably as close to an ego thing as I've seen....

I think so far on this thread, temper tantrum is my personal favorite name.... That's friggin perfect.

I only named my racers, a term of endearment, All of my cars, I've called them names, you know the type when things go wrong, I would never paint any of "those" on anything as my potty mouth can be spectacular when I'm PO. I did learn a lesson when my kids were small, my boy then around 3 fell off his bicycle, picked himself up and with the tone and words I use, he cursed out his bike, From that time on I try to watch my potty mouth, not always successful but I do try. Speaking of potty mouth, why is it some guys cannot speak without the "F" word every other word ?

I named the build One Piece at a Time like the Johnny Cash song, cuz that's all I can really afford to do. I've had this car for about four or five years and haven't even titled it yet because I didn't ever think that I'd get this far, let alone name it.
    ....I'm open to suggestions.

About every vehicle on the Farm has a name . Usually the color and age of vehicle or what it is used for . Every vehicle I’ve owned has had a name .
I bought a 69 FLH the owner called it’s color cosmic purple. Harley calls it HyFy Burgundy . I call it the Cosmic Purple machine. A Friend of mine calls it Janis after Janis Joplin .

  26. Pete...........I googled Willow Springs out of curiosity. My avatar pic was taken in your neighborhood. Lake Texoma out of Kingston. That road trip was one of the '57's first after completing, bringing it"back home" to Madil, which is where it was when my late father-in-law passed away. He drove it for a while there in '97. Back then it was red and white. John retired there from Amarillo and was a fishing guide on the lake.

I never was one to name my rides, but my current project is "Frugal Frank". Frugal cuz it's a low budget project, and Frank is short for "Frankentruck" since it's an attempt to re-animate parts of dead Chevrolets...

I wanted to name my 50 fastback "The Love Train Locomotive" but I was afraid I couldn't live up to it. 50athome2.jpg
