Thanks, I know you were thinking of me, I'm still laughing as I type this. Both projects are in the basement, so I guess you can call them The Bodies in the Basement.

I miss all the cool names race cars had in the '60s. That gave way to sponsor's names and then DOT.COM websites.

I've got a HAMB-friendly blown I6 FED project. Aiming for metalflake purple paint to go with the purple Stroud chute. It needs a name.

The best the kids can come up with is Purple Nurple, though those were known locally as a "nipple cripple" when I was a kid. Violent Rumble is already taken by a local Junior Dragster (Violet Crumble's are another Aussie confectionary, like a Tim Tam).

Too frightened to raise a post here asking for name suggestions... those threads never end well.

    Cheers,
    Harv

  11. Contrary to popular belief my old beater is wearing a very old paint job, I believe it was last painted in 1964, the paint is chipped and cracked but it got that way from driving it and enjoying it, who knows someday I may scuff up the old car and shot a coat of semi gloss black like my old pickup.

I have owned nice shiny cars but I don't enjoy the constant work to keep them looking perfect. HRP

Did you know no word in the English Language rhymes with purple? That is until somebody named the product Ford assembly plants use to lubricate vacuum hoses on assembly and called it "Murple".

Same with orange. I've never given any of mine a name, except for an OT F-250 that everyone named 'Green' so it kinda stuck. When I registered an old plate I had for years to my newest Buick, the lady commented on the 3 letters,
Great Britain & Wales, Not realizing she meant the country I replied "Well, it's not a whale, but it's a big boat! Letters stand for Great Big Wildcat!

I usually refer to my 61 Dodge as my ugly Dodge. I refer to my old 49 Chevy sedan as the green 49. I'm very creative like that

  21. Miss Taboo - Named in 1958 after original owner Ron Luchs dad got pissed Ron was cutting up a practically new car. Told him it was "taboo" to ruin a new car (that he signed for at the dealership)

My 33 Ford pickup has been named "Little Mouse" for the little teal stuffedmouse I had my grandpa hang on the tilt stalk when I was toddler.

That's what I'm talking about, it's the story behind the name that makes it worthwhile to me. I had a 2 door sedan that sent me to the doctor on a regular basis, probably got stitches 5 times while I was building that car, so I called it stitches. Had a pickup that I called Doc for the same reason lol

  23. GEORGE! After Dad, who was an avid Buick man. I helped the first time , handing tools to him as he changed the transmission in the 1932. That was early 1948.

I've been trying to come up with something but "The Buick" is what I've been using.

I used to have a Mini Cooper named pepper and an old Chevy truck named Thirsty.

I have always named my cars, every last one of them. New and old, but trying to stay HAMB friendly these are the names of my "Old Iron".

Hey Lloyd, Just came back to this thread and saw this post. That would be cool and generous! I need the drivers side. But actually, after thinking about it a minute, the rusted area is in the flat, back side of the cab and then curves under. I could just try to make that. Thanks BTW.

I'm at the firehouse on a 48 hour shift, but I'll look and see which side it is, it's a full cab corner, seems to be good quality
