Went into town today.....then we saw this 1946 Mercury sedan we restored about 3yrs ago(less than 60000miles original on it back then).... Guy was building on to his garage to have place for his Beautiful Merc with his other cars...then this happend....tree fell on it!....sux to see a car that you spend alot of time on to rebuild go in such a way..... Feel free to comment or show your pics "THAT ****S"... What a sad day....
Havn't spoken to the owner yet,but the guys where it is standing told us what happend...gonna see if he doesn't maybe wanna sell it...will make an awesome custom 2-door convertible don't you think?! Still sux!luckily we don't have sux huge trees at our place....He has/had m***ive trees at his place....he also has a 5-window original no. matching '39 chevy coupe.....Luckily that's indoors....far from trees!
makes me wanna cry....my father restored one identical to that one back in the late 60s. I guess I'll take it tho if he dont want it....just gotta get it to me.
I was gonna say, it'd make a Hell of a nice donor for a two door, but I didn't want to be a ****. Lemons into lemonade. But maybe there are no two doors over there?
There are only 2 1951 2-door Mercs I know of here...one fully custom...other one...well...rusting away, cause the guy doesn't wanna sell! 1946 Mercs...I only know of 2...this is one of them...
As bad as it looks, I bet there's dozens of HAMBrs with the skill to have it ready for paint with 2 weeks of dedication. That car's way too nice to be dead yet.
That's merely the before pic of a challenge. Make an offer after he gets the insurance check. Flatman
Rich there are people who take out trees. That is a sad picture but I'll be a 4dr Merc sedan body could be aquired for not a lot of change. The rest looks savable.
Man that does ****! I have a nice, original '67 396 Chevelle (I know, not HAMB friendly anyway) sitting way too close to an dead tree right now. This gives me the willies. Oh, and hate the tree hugger, not the tree. I love trees, it'd be hard to be a shade tree mechanic with out them.
It'll pound out... Someone got a pic of the 4dr sedan Brewsir turned into a 2 dr carson topped Kustom?
A few years ago we awoke to a top of the neighbors pine tree laying on 3 vehicles in my driveway and only one covered full coverage... I hate ****ing trees. At least it didnt fall on the garage and the 32 coupe but he still has 2 more standing.. Dave
He,he,he,he,! I'd think a Ford Sedan would offer up all of the tin necessary to repair it, save for some squashed stainless trim. God, atleast it wasn't a cowl shot, or front hit! S****ey Devils C.C. "Meanwhile, back aboard The Tainted Pork"
