The 74 I had for a little while in the mid 80s. Sold it when the first kid came along.

And in the background is my older brother's 69. He kept it for a while.

    Now I have a 62....

  3. I bought my first vette when i was 22 it was a clapped out 13 year old 76 after paint/interior/motor and a lot of other work it was a nice car. No pic at the moment tho. About ten years later i bought a 60 that needed a lot. I did the best i could with it at the time. It turned out real decent. Next was a 69 350HP side pipe convertible. Pretty nice car. Now i have the family heirloom 57. Dad bought it at 23 years old in 1962 he hung on to it until his health was failing. About 5-6 years ago he passed it to me. He always wanted a nice paint job so it got the best one i could arrange, also a new motor/trans/wiring/wheels etc. I badly want a 64-67 coupe next but i doubt that’ll happen

No pictures now, but I have a 75 4 speed with a 65 300hp 327 that looks like a bomb went off in the interior.

  5. I grew up in vettes since that is what my dad always drove. He had a 65 coupe, 70 coupe, 78 silver anniversary, and 91 coupe. I have had a few as well including a 72 coupe, 74 coupe, 75 roadster, 76 coupe, 91 coupe, and 2000 coupe. And, now, both my boys are driving them…2000 coupe and 2001 coupe. I also painted several vettes back when I was a painter…

    So…seems I like them. :D

A few random pics that I have of some of the ones mentioned above.

We had a 1964 Corvette Coupe in the 1980s... Traded a 1969 prostreet Camaro for it. Odd how my Camaro left and my wife's Corvette rolled into the garage? LOL

Its was a nice car, OE engine was gone. Took the Corvette to a vette gathering at Lou Grubb Chevrolet in Phoenix. We heard the words "nice driver" about 609 times that day.

I've come to really like the early vettes, pre-63 especially. I used to walk right past them at shows but now I'll stop to take a look. A lot of the Corvette crowd is just so polar opposite of my mentality, specifically the restoration crowd that wants everything original and numbers matching. Whereas I just like cool stuff I can drive and have fun in, and enjoy the customization.

I'm sure one day I'll get one but the C1s are still so pricey, it'll have to be a real treat to myself.

Now that you're a successful injury lawyer, you can afford to buy an old Corvette. Go for it

You sure that twern't a 75 Vette. That rear end doesn't look 2 piece from here. Sweet cars BTW.

You don't see a lot of 74's. the 73 always looked like one guy designed the front end and someone else was in charge out back. Probably just using up spare front bumpers.

had to do with the bumper laws, they required impact absorbing fronts before rears

now people call them "malaise" cars. The performance vacuum from early 70s to late 80s.

Yeah, they aren’t barn burners like the big blocks were in factory trim, but they respond well to a few normal hot rod tricks.
Mine is fast enough for an old fart like me. It’ll cruise interstate speeds as easily as it does country roads. What good is all that extra speed if you don’t have somewhere to use it?
So far, I’m liking the cross fire injection. Starts easy every time, smooth, no surging at lower speeds like an oversized carb will do. If it ever goes bad, simple enough to go to a carb with an intake and distributor change.
