As always - I had a blast! I've said this for the last 2 years, but - I'm going to have my coupe ready for next year.....and, I'm coming in town on Thursday and leaving Monday. I just can't take it all in Friday night and Saturday. Thanks to everyone involved for the Roundup!!! It gets better every year!!

Congratulations on the award Ryan,(Alex Gambino no less).
Despite having a high finish standard, I had resisted sugestions to "show" my '47 Harley. Always insisting that it was for riding. However, when unbeknownst to me I was awarded a recycled kool vintage cycle trophy at the first Greezefest in 2000, to say I felt honoured is an understatement. I can guess what you might have felt like.
As for the round up, looks nice and sunny, even if a little cold. Enjoyed the tale and great pics.

  3. This was my first Round Up and it was great !

Thanks to all of those hard-working guys / gals that made it possible !

The Kontinentals are great and have really done a lot for the hobby!! I kept saying that the Roundup has a lot to do with motivating lots of people to thrash hard and really bring out some high quality rides. Thanks for putting so much time and effort into the event guys!

Plus, I always get a kick out of seeing Reggie so happy with his newest toys!!!

I (and my two 3-year olds) had a great time at the Round Up this year. This was my second Round Up and I am planning on my third next year. I was able to make it to Reggie's, the Friday Garage Crawl, and the Garage party in addition to the show and Congress. Thanks to everyone for being so hospitable. I plan to be back next year with my 49 pickup (if I can get it done) and my two boys again. The boys had fun, but I think they were pretty worn out by the time we got home Sunday evening (I know I was).

I couldn't make it this year, after being there the last 2 years I knew it would be tough. Now, seeing all this I know it was a mistake. Seeing Gary Howard, Jimmie Vaughn and Lee Pratt all sitting together on a park bench would have been worth the cost of the whole weekend. As Ryan say's only in Austin........... I won't make this mistake again. Gary

  10. Getting to see Reggies "goodies" was worth the trip alone..Plus putting Denise
in the dragster for the "cackle"was another highlight..She didnt think we would do it!!!! Thanks to ALL involved..was SUPER again this year..

  11. Across the country? the LSRU has a international presence, and I know that having watched it grow via the varoius media elements, if I can get to the states next year with my family, my holiday will pivot around making it to this event...

Having said that, what are next years dates....?

Congrats to all, looks like a great achievement to those that made it what it is.

    Cheers,

  13. This was my first time to stripe at the LSR and it was great. I would like to thank Norm Jones for getting me in. And to all who let me lay down crooked lines on their hot rods, plus the positive comments I received from all who watched...Thank you. Now I won't have to stand in line at the foodstamp office next week! Mike

  14. Ryan,
Congrats on the win....nice ol hot rod you have there.
As to the LSRU....it has turned into my favorite hot rod gathering(and I have been to a few:rolleyes:)....its been said before, good folks, good rides brought together by the Kontinentals.....my weekend started on Weds nite at Lux's place and ended at Jason's on Sunday. Not much sleep:rolleyes:, but a LOT of fun to be thrown into a few days:D.
Once again, Thanks for the HAMB....the thread that pulls all of this together....

This year was huge for me! I'm still in awe...

I met some really nice folks...some of them contemporary hot rod luminaries,
Others I've been reading about since I was a kid.

  16. I'm safely (sadly) back in hot rod exile in Canadia, still reeling from the weekend.

Huge THANKS! to everyone who puts this show together and works to make it what it is, and thanks to the city of Austin, flat out the coolest town there is.

Great to see everybody. Thanks for making us welcome.

BINGO!! The Fab. Kontinentals presented the most exciting event I have ever attended. It was non-stop cool from start to stop. All the staff was incredible, as was everything!! Congrats Ryan-Well deserved, that coupe made my knees buckle! All the music was really well attended and super hot shows. The Garage party was insane and also so well run and hospitality unlimited. As usual "The City Of Austin" was a friendly treat!! Thanks to all!-Sololobo

Looks like a blast! Does anybody have any more pics of that, as Ryan put it, "Oddly proportioned single seat roadster?" Thanks!

  20. I'm sorry to say I've never been to the Roundup yet, but it's on the top of my list for next year! Congrats on the award Ryan!

Amazing weeked as always. My drive down Congress to work this morning was borderline depressing...until I saw a few stragglers still in the San Jose parking lot. Good times. Thanks Kontinentals.

Great show! Ryan it was great to meet you Thursday and thanks for the T-shirts, the extra layers helped keep me from freezing.
