Few events can compare or compete with the quality of the Lonestar Roundup, it's not about show boats or high dollar paint jobs but the heart & soul of real, dare I say it, Traditional Hot Rods & Customs. This show should be on everyone's bucket list. HRP
Some fine cars in that batch, We are sitting here mid day watching someone's video on youtube now. No idea of who did the video but none of that crappy guitar music that too many think they have to add rather than just hear the sounds of the event. on the youtube list of at least 17 videos of the 2023 Lonestar roundup his is a lot like just walking around the show and looking using someone else's feet. Was a great time. My coupe is way dirtier now than in your photo. Just about home after 850 miles and rain and wind.Great weekend catching up with friends I haven’t seen since covid
I have walked the show most all the years it has lived at the fairgrounds. Each of those walks have been used to fuel my goal of driving my 1941 to the Round Up. Last year we drive it from the parking lot, this year we drove it from New Bruanfels both days. Words cant completely describe the coolness of driving a participating car into the show. We had a blast both days and even lucked out to a perfect spot on Congress across from the Continental Club to watch those activities. Thank you to everyone that has a hand in putting this together and having the love to keep it going year after year.
Stellar weekend for sure, Boss!! The weather turned out to be perfect despite the sloppiness on Thursday. The quality of the cars was impressive by any standard... I heard many people comment that folks are obviously upping their build game (). The crowd was sizable but not oppressive, and everyone just seemed 'chill'. And the music lineup @El Jefe curated for us all continues to be second to none. Your words hit home. After dealing with all of Austin's growing pains, it's nice to get these reminders now and again that the soul is still there, and this weekend did just that for us. Thanks for everything you do, man.
This show will always hold a special place in my heart. This was the first car show I went to by myself after my dad was killed. It was at this show I met a lot of the friends I had made online. It was this show that kept my desire for building hot rods strong and eventually got me into the industry. Sure, just like anything else, there are always nay-sayers. But the people that refuse to listen to those nay-sayers and go anyways always gets rewarded with an amazing show, every year. I look forward to this show every single year. Is it April 2024 yet?
First year going and my mind was blown and I died and gone to heaven lol! Glad that Raymond got me to go and my wife too!
Second year driving there from southeast Florida then home to Long Island. Worth every mile !!!!!!!!!!
