WOW !! hadn't checked in on this thread for a while. So sorry to hear of Dave's passing. Condolences to his family and friends.

  3. Speedy, I love ya for getting this car done. Nice to see more progress. Exhaust looks great. Curious about the concern about cracked bell housing? I get the deal about unsupported weight. But why is this different than all the factory GM stuff? It is because it's in a stiffer chassis? I've always kinda wondered.
P.S. Funny seeing Brewers note pads

I think what they're worried about is the distance between the transmission mount and early style motor mount, which bolts to the front face of the block. You've got mounting locations at the very front and very rear of this assembly, and that has potential to put stress on the dowel pins/mounting bolts/bellhousing. I had similar concerns when mocking up my engine/trans, and I was going to mount to bell-housing as he's showing. I ended up changing motor mounts to the side, though (I gained steering box clearance and mechanical fuel pump clearance in the process). I think the bellhousing mounts are good insurance.

  5. Woah, woah, woah! I can't take any credit for the work getting done. That's all Dave's dad Tim. I'm only updating the thread on his behalf.

    Bingo! You've got it man.

  6. Thanks. Makes sense about the difference having the early front engine mounts.
And yeah..... Didn't know Tim was putting it together. I must have misread earlier posts. Good progress !

  7. Thank you for the update,,I am happy to hear his dad is going to finish the car..Dave was a great go and is missed.HRP

  8. It's been cold this winter. Real cold. The garage only has a wood stove for heat, so there hasn't been much progress.

I went down to Macs a few weeks ago to get some parts. Tim started rebuilding the front backing plates…

Glad to see things moving, and yes this has been one cold ass winter.

I am not sure where in Ontario you are, but if you are close and need a hand give me a shout.

  11. So glad Daves car is being finished, very cool build. JW :)

  12. I was wondering the other day what was happening with Dave's T. Was hoping to see it done in the vane he would have. Hope the new owner see's his vision and carries it on. Good luck with the sale. JW

Someone is gonna get a piece of HAMB history.

  14. The potential is still there. Not a lot has changed on it since Dave passed. I hope it gets completed in his vision as well.
    Could be you Pete! :D

We used a Front mount on our T , it has a rear motor plate between enginge and trans and a rear trans mount cross member, prbobably a little overkill, but it is a race car , we have over a hundred passes with no issues at all
