Everyone of those y'all have sent here to work on T/F and F/C's south of that equator thing. From NZ, AU, and TAZ. They all have scared the hell out of me. (Worked with Grant a few times at Del's, and the aussies as well, Westmoreland boys, Grubby, Hell'en, Cowins, Russo's...) Never sleep except for say 6am to about 8:30am on off racing days. Nocturnal? No shit. Can hold about 30 gallons of beer with no humps like a camel or nothing at least visible. Can eat the living shit out of and completely decimate a huge BBQ in about 30 minutes. Very dangerous around Crown Royal. Make you laugh till your face hurts so bad you think you have to go to hospital (worded that for y'all). Can fight like nobodys business (even the police officers were very impressed!) And can turn out to be the best people and friends you will ever meet in life. But as a long past girlfriend from about 25 years ago said after one race "Those people are fucking nuts. Fun, really fun, but really fun fucking nuts." She never figured out that anyone who spends all their money on race cars and trying to blow them up every weekend is not really totally sane to begin with. And there are people in the world who drop everything travel and 10,000 miles just to make it happen. Good on ya boys and girls. Good luck and I'll PM my contact information to you just in case you need something in Texas. But you are NOT staying here! LOL. Well one night maybe. The ladies can stay indoors. You boys can sleep outside by the pool (next to the beer refrigerator.)
Hang on.... you have a pool? And beer? And ladies? Sounds like a party to me! Noddy P.S PM your details.... after the mayhem my wife and 2 kids are coming to the USA to meet me and we are off on a road trip.... Your Pool would be safe...
perhaps he will have 5 helpers for a 24 hour thrash when he gets home..... (or perhaps it should be kidnapped and built while he's away like they do to folks homes on T.V.)
Spent many an evening in the company of blokes from across the pond and have made friends for life. I'm expecting the same after our week spent at B'ville/HAMB Drags with these fellows. Giving them the run of my place for as long as they want would be an honor and privledge. Besides, if I need to sleep I can always walk down to my folks house and sleep in my old bed for the night. My guests might not even know I'm gone. One of these days, over a cold one in person, I'll fill you in on the Aussie I almost married.
Kool! Can I put the order in now? Blown Hemi & quickchange and all new chrome..... Oh, and a new garage and deck to go with it? The wife has the keys to the garage.... when do you want to start???
Really looking forward to meeting you on the Salt Denise! It will be one of the highlights of our adventure..... Noddy
We was thinking more along the lines of painting the whole thing flat black, dipping all yer brightwork in the sea for a spell, and tearing out the upholstery and putting in some burlap sacks. You know, like real hot rods are......
Oh I am Marty.... but you know the rules about my T Bucket.... LOL... Something will happen with it soon... after the USA I might make a start on it again... 16 years since I last got in it! I'm just not sure I can get my leg over now.... the car Marty, the car! Noddy
Well - we are heading to the USA today! We arrive in LA Friday morning and all going to plan we'll be out and about some car events in LA on Friday night and Saturday... Look forward to meeting anyone from the HAMB! Noddy
Hey Noddy Have a great trip, and keep us stranded Kiwis updated when you can. I haven't been to the USA for a year now, and I'm jealous of the tour y'all are doing. T>
