If you want that full article, send me a PM so I remember and I'll get it to you. Posted from the open road.
not much of an update took the Horne linkage off and fit a Stromberg linkage kit dug through my pile and found most of what I need to put the brakes together, backing plates, shoes drums and such just gotta find the time to make it happen
oh yeah, I did this too, do not try this at home kids, you could put your eye out. seriously.. neat chrome fan was meant to turn counterclockwise so I couldn't use it so I pulled a stock fan out of the pile and carefully measured cut and filed it smaller
i cut my fan on my 265 Chevy to clear some hoses as well. I made a jig and marked a center point to strike an ellipse around the fan. Then cut each fan blade accordingly. Then I took it to a lawn mower repair shop to have them balance the blade (or at least show me where it was off) then once I had it balanced I had it magnafluxed just to be sure to limit the possibilities of it coming apart. Very nice updates.
Well it is nice to know you are pulling some air. A thinking person hands on that's what I like about your build.
Found this thread today. Beautiful work! Got a 27 roadster that started from a touring myself. I've been trying to dig through the bowels of this forum to gather info. Your thread is a great resource. Thanks for all the pics along the way.
Just read the whole thread and I must say that this is one cool roadster. Love the work you've done so far! Looking forward to the next progress report.
Great looking little roadster! I love the engine it looks great!. I posted early on in your thread that I was just about to start my own '27 T, I did get started but am not nearly as far on as you but then I am building my body from scratch in sheet steel. Keep up the good work Paul. David Here is a link to my build in case you are lnterested... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=596032
thanks guys, wish I had something to report, been busy doing other stuff lately between working on and driving the rpu this project has been neglected far too long.
I would love to hear or see some more info and details on how you converted the subrails of the touring body over the the roadster rear. Pick out a paint scheme yet?
There is always something else that needs doing. I have not been able to get much done on mine for a while oecause of the pressures of work. Joys of being self employed! Should be able to got back on it soon. Can't wait to see your build finished, it's very nice!. David
Have you ever looked inside one? It's actually divided into two cavities along the floor.....so he'll have clutch....at least for a pump or two.
Very nice Paul, love the overall look and style. There's something about 26-27 T's with 28-29 radiator shells. JW
this came in the mail yesterday, Edelbrock 394 6x2 log manifold and Offenhauser water cross over with two sets of tri-power carbs, lines and linkage needs a lot of love but the price was right
I love vintage Olds drivetrains but I'll stick to the late 60s Olds for myself! I'm not that much of a glutton and I want to drive them as soon as possible! So how many Olds powered Roadsters do you have??? Posted using Full box of Crayons on the Kitchen Walls App!
