This is the last '39 update...she went to her new home today. The dude who bought her will give her all the attention she would ever need and it frees up space for the next project. Here is the nickel tour.. The body came from Virgina a year and a half ago. The bottom 8 inches were bondo fiberglass porch screen and dirty socks, but the rest of the body was pretty damn OK. Last time for this pic, I SWEAR. Here she is about half done. Her little mill... And, done. This is her today heading for N Carolina. She will live just a few miles from my old Merc and they will visit each other often. And finally, I get to start on the '34 project. More about that soon... See ya, -Abone.
Another one down, good work. You sure that's a '34? Kind of like telling you have a Mastadon from a couple of 2" rock chips you found at the park. You sure have a lot more skills than I do.
You should know that since you continue to set the bar so high in building and finishing that you are now required to do a more detail build thread on the 34.
Jeebus Jeff, are you on a mission to clog our roads with fine black hotrods!? So, the real question, is the 34 a keeper?
I once read a book called "the Discipline of Market Leaders". It described how market leaders in any field choose one thing, they master it and they become the best there is at that one thing. You have obviously done just that. You are the best at taking a pile of scrap and building badass, black, Pontiac powered hot rods.
I could not have parted with that one. A '39 Deluxe coupe is on my top-five list, even with '40 headlights GREAT JOB!!
I'm not even surprised that you already sold it... Hell, I'd be surprised if you hadn't have sold it by now. I don't know how you do it man.
Wait they are both in NC? Damn why do I never seen them!!! More importantly how comes I haven't rounded up the fellers to comes down for the day and break bread and beers? You are far to close not to meet. I've got a Model 40 in the garage right now myself after trading my Merc. I'm stoked as well to get on it although I wouldn't expect much out of me haha!
I can't believe you sold it already. Did you even get a chance to put a few miles on it? Either way, I can't wait to see the '34 get underway. JH
I'm just glad its in N.C. I MAY have a chance at it now.. Very nice. I wish I could spell better so I would have the ability to say a bunch of really nice comments about it... Love the black paint,MAN is it deep...
