    Yes, I noticed that too.

  5. I had a big block 402, and it was out of an early 70s 1/2 ton. I don't know for certain, but back in the day, I was told that, in some models, if you ordered the 400 2bbl, you got the small block. If you ordered the 4bbl, you got the big block. I didn't much care, because I was only interested in big block engines.

  6. I saw one in Vancouver in 1963. It was listed as a 427/435 horse and it was fast. I had no idea how special it was at the time. Couldn't have been that expensive, a longshoreman owned it :)

That's funny.... In 1963 the guys I knew with the most $$$$ in the pockets were Longshoremen. Like was stated some actually showed up a dealerships. The guy could just walked in at the right time wanting a 63 409 and bought a true Z11.... If it just could have been a Biscayne with no back seat or operating rear windows....

  8. It is too long ago to remember the exact model of the car, I only saw it and talked to the guy a few times while I was working as a gas jockey.
I was in love with the W engines because one of my buddies had a 409/409, and it went like stink.

  10. It was more than that in Canada because of the import duty. I don't know know how much duty, but I think it was 25 %
