Bought a new Ford Focus ZX3 new in 2001, I love my Ford products but that thing spent more time getting recalls fixed or stupid repairs made. The last straw was when all the tumblers fell out of the ignition switch at Lowes on a sunday, I could have burnt it to the ground. Traded it right before the warranty ran out for a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, the only major thing that went wrong with it was the trans but it was covered by my extended warranty. My current ride has been the most dependable car I have owned and sadly it is imported, 2005 Mazda 3 hatch. Over 85k with nothing more than a check engine light coming on for a bad sensor.
The next new car will be domestic just to support the economy and my country, probaly another Ford as Mopar seems to being floating downstream rapidly and I just do not like GM products, in the price range I shop in the cars are low on quality control.

I really haven't had a bad car...My '80 Cutlass is f'n amazing, my I fixed all the problems in my '94 Chevy 1500 by replacing the 4.3L/4l60e with a 425 Olds and a Th400...Much better, I also did away with the air, factory gauges (I'm using Sun Blue Lines now) all the computer stuff went out with the engine and trans...It should be done soon!

My dad did have a yugo for about 45 minutes though...Bought it for a $1...that's right a $1...sold it for $250 to a kid 10 years ago..and he still drives it...WTF..

89 Chevy Cavalier RS (Real Slow) . Bought brand new off the show room Floor. Big P.O.S! I got rid of it in1994 Bought a Honda Civic. That was the best car I've evered owned. I put 200,000 miles on it. I traded it and bought a 2003 Mazda B2300 (Ford Ranger) in 2004 It was a left over. Another American Made P.O.S) Left Me stranded with 600 miles on it. I still have it but, I bought another Honda Civic 1995 with 132K on it and I use that everyday. It gets better milage than my truck and I don't worry about breaking down.My Next truck is going to be the Honda Ridgeline.

Funny, my wife bought a 74 Pinto Wagon with her High School graduation money but with the 2.0, 4-speed at $2200. We drove the car for over 150K with very little maintenance. Replaced the clutch/flywheel once, the water pump, and put in a new cam at 120K. In 1982 when the second water pump died, I parted the car out for half what she had paid for it new. Used the top to fill the roof on my brother's chopped 32 5W Coupe, various other parts on different hotrod or Mullins trailer projects over the years. I bought several others over the years as work vehicles, cheap, dependable and easily replaceable.

I had a 1979 Chevy luv. That little truck was actually a really good runner... it was just so rusted out that I'd loose something anytime I drove it.... mostly stuff that fell on the floor! ;)

I thought I'd be funny to put a lift kit on it... so I did... body lift. As I was driving down the road one day I went over a bump, and the whole cab fell through the lift kit!

It finally died because it had rusted so bad that the clutch pedal rusted apart and there was no place to attach the new one!

Quite possibly the Best worst car i ever owned! :D

  12. 1998 dodge ram 1500. it was a work truck and the day i traded it in on my current truck i was driving top speed of 35 m.p.h. to the dealership with my fingers crossed that it made it without a tow truck. transmissions suck in those trucks.

  15. 2000 Ford Taurus 3.0 V6 engine. Could not keep it aligned, ate a set of tires every year. THe fuel pump failed @ 30 K. air stopped working @ 35k, numerous other small problems.

Every year was a major expense to get it to pass the emissions test. This past year all three catalytic converters needed to be replaced. I was happy to sell this car with 66K for $1500.

wierd thing, i have been lucky enough to own a bunch of cars that I loved. All were not great but they all have had good memories. Even a 69 toyota corona with a 2 speed auto that couldn't get out of it's own way. Me and my high school friends drove the wheels off that thing. fun times

The worst POS I ever owned was a late 1960's Fuel injection VW Wagon .
Never ran right and hard to start with bad wiring that caught on fire under the dash ! Had that car for about 1 month and sold it to a junk yard for more I paid for it !

I hate to say it but the worst was a 1942 military Dodge 1/2 ton w/a straight 6.Don't get me wrong I loved that truck. When I got it it came with a complete extra chassis and believe me I needed it.I had it for a few years and every time I took it out something would break(EVERY TIME).It was a pain to own but I miss it just the same.

1986 Lincoln Town Car. Mechanically excellent, a/c ice cold, drove real nice, crap electrics/electronics. Phantom no start problem, digital dash had a mind of it's own, had to unplug a vacuum line to get the heater to work, after filling it with gas the last time, it decided for the first time it didn't feel like cranking. Jumped the starter relay drove it to the wreckers, took my 50 bucks and gave it the finger as I was leaving.

Combination worst and funnest (funniest?) to play with.

1974 Mustang II with a 2.3. Built a 351W and planted it in it. Couldn't get headers and I sold it for money to build a new 2.3. Crane Fireball and a 2 barrel from a 390 truck engine and a cherry bomb in the back.

Sounded like a hornet on steroids and would grenade a stick shift in 1 launch. Rusted throughout and looked like a bee with yellow paint and rust covering the whole car. I ran that thing into the ground until I went to the service and eventually sold it off.

Ugliest piece of crap and the funnest thing ever to drive for almost nothing.

    It was called "La Bomba"

1991 Jeep Cherokee. I couldn't even make it INTO the grapevine from the Bakersfield side.

  24. You caught me  .

I did mean UNBREAKABLE ;) . I went back and changed it.

Neither Road Runner had disc brakes. They had the big manual adjusting drums, with no power booster, I think 11" diameter. They braked pretty good, and I used them hard.

I hammered and beat on both those cars like a crazed madman  . Tough transmissions and clutches. A throwout bearing was the only driveline part I replaced in RR #2. UNBREAKABLE CARS :)

Keeping in mind as a frame of reference that I've owned a Fiat Multipla van, a Morris Minor, and a brand new, '91 Yugo that my wife bought me so I'd stop riding my ZX10 Ninja in snow and ice storms, the worse vehicles I've ever owned were my '65 GTO and my '69 Impala SS.

Worst: 2000 Dodge Intrepid. Needed a new automatic trans at 136k miles. I was not going to pay for another one 13k miles later.

2nd worst: '87 Chevy suburban. Mechanically great, but if you were real quiet at night, you could hear it rusting out in the driveway.

    Best: 1988 Chevy S-10, 4.3, 700r trans. Fantastic vehicle.

I called it my pickup trunk
even talked a few girls into going out with me in my "vette" oh the looks were priceless when I pulled up with the fishing poles and all in the back seat!!!
What??? this is my vette... my chevette, dont you like it
I may have done alot of cheezy things in my life but that right there was the most fun ever to get a hottie in that car.

A 73 Camaro 307. Body rusted out in every place that rain touched when it fell down and every other place where water touched when the tires splashed it up from puddles.

1963 Chevy Nova, threw money at it for 2 years, wrecked it, fixed it and sold it for half of what I paid for it. Problem was that it was my daily driver so I had to sell my favorite gun, for a bit over half of what I paid for it, so I could fix the wreck damage.
