First... anything front wheel drive!!! I don't care who makes it.

Second...Any Chevrolet P/U from say 73 up!!!!! I don't give a fuck what you Chevy people say, my dad owned a car car lot when I was growing up and bought A LOT of trucks, several hundred a year for almost 20 years, and Chevys were the worst built between the big 3. I've worked on more than most will ever own in 20 lifetimes.

Along w/that 88-98 Chevy truck are the biggest pieces of shit I have ever seen when it comes to front suspension. For the last 15 years I've been building custom trucks everyday, and I cant even begin to tell you how many front end parts I've replaced on those ragged ass trucks.

And don't get me started on Chevys fucked up idea of pins and bushings in the doors!!!

Early 70's Pinto. I don't recall the exact year. It was a winter beater that made it all the way to 99,999.9 miles. Then I rolled it in a ditch. Eight stitches in my head and the worst hangover ever. My stupid teenage years.

  6. Hmm. And here I beat to death for 40,000 miles an already rusty when purchased '89 Suburban, towing once 7500 lbs behind a half-ton truck that I ended up replacing the back doors, the side doors, the front clip and the lower quarters on. The back doors done kind of on the spot when I broke the back window in the tailgate and discovered that had been all that was holding said tailgate in place. Mechanically dead nuts reliable, started when it was 95', started when it was -5'. So reliable I replaced it with a '91. I'm probably going to put the '89 motor and trans in my '50 Chevy, TBI and all.

I even have a diesel Suburban I picked up that has a bad trans, reverse and high gone, but even after sitting a year it still fired right up and I drive it around the lot a couple laps every couple weeks to keep it from turning to junk sitting. Good solid body on it. Bitch to start in the cold, but that's a diesel thing.

My mom has a '95 pickup that my dad bought used from his work that has just about 300,000 miles on the original engine and transmission. And my sister had an '89 pickup that had the motor and trans rebuilt once, the odometer broken so no one knew how many miles it had on it. A lot, it came from the same source as the '95. She wrecked it on black ice one morning and that was that.

On the other hand I have an S10 that I never could get the damn thing to run more than a second or two on primed gas, even after changing half the shit on the top of the engine, putting the right computer in it, etc. It's probably going to end up a frame donor for some other vehicle.

1999 Dodge Dakota; I liked the way it rode and drove but something was always wore out or breaking on it. It only had 42.000 miles on it when I sold it. One week after I sold it the guy that bought it from me called to tell me the transmission went out

Bought a new 2002 Daewoo for my wife (what she wanted) to drive back and forth to work (4 miles each way) back in IL. 6 months later we moved to AZ and I get a job for Auto Trader driving a couple hundred miles a day and I get stuck driving that POS. Less than 3 years later I ended up donating the car to charity. 62K miles and the thing was JUNK.

1988 VW cabrio dubbed the, 'Beaver Basket.' It was free and barely worth it. I drove it for about a year before it got towed and they wanted $250.00 for it. I told them they could keep it ...

My dad say his worst car happened to be '66 Chevrolet Caprice, it was his dad's idea..He wanted a '64. but he caved in and bought it. Yet he believes the '66 model year Caprice had severe drive line issues, the car in it's lifetime went through 7 TH400's, 3 12 bolts, and for some odd reason the right rear tire would lose tread. Also it had severe brake issues, the linings would turn black and crack, and if they weren't rivited they would fall off. He does say they did a good job on the 396. It ran 'til it's last day. The same issues were also expeirenced prior while owning a '64 Valiant with a slant six, with a type writer shifter which included numerous rear ends, and several 904's. He can't diagnose the problems down to anything more than poor quality control..and he is an ASE Certified Master Tech...so he is always right:rolleyes: or so he says...

The worst car I ever owned was my 56 belair. Every time I tried to hotrod it, something would break. After I quit trying to beat on it and restored it to original, it was the best car I ever owned.

Well now it is like a new car. Wrong. After about ten times
I limped into the used car dealer with it and things have been
just fine since then. Still like fords as long as they are rwd.

$50 Fuel Pump, or $6 Relay, or $15 Oil Pressure Switch.

They run on the primed gas, then die.

Fuel Pump Requires taking the bed off, then unlocking the fuel pump assembly from the top of the tank. Its a pretty straight forward job.

I had thought my Rambler wag had been cus it blow a rod and had no were for a spair tire any were in the car at all,but then I got a Malbue chevy wag,now that was a illdesigned POS,first thing it needed was a new motor, then all the windows stoped working at about the same time, then the front seat fell over backword in to the back.pulled rite out of floor, the back hatch would fall and hit ya in the head every time ya put anything down in the back[even after replacing the hatch shocks new]
Even the chevy dealer could not get the dam horn to work or wipers to go as they should. The one and only thing it had was good paint job.
Only save from that one was the fairly new V8 for another rod.

1974 Pontiac Astre. The thing was a 4cyl tank with a stiff clutch that made you veer left or right as you were clutching onto the steering wheel for leverage in order to shift gears. the red and orange racing stripe decals along the sides made it even better.

  17. 67 volkswagen beetle,
new motor, new transaxle, new suspension.
no matter how many parts i dumped in this pig it kept on giving me grief.
i put about $4500 into it , fixed or adjusted everything on it every other week for about 2 1/2 years, and finally threw in the towel and went back to old american cars.
that little bastard car still haunts me to this day.
one of my buddies just built a 67 bug and im stuck helping him work on it.

hes about ready to douse the car in laquer thinner, light it,and push it off the cliff behind his house .
i will never buy anything but an old american car again.

70's vega: horrendous. Runner up 80's Peugot wagon: don't go French.

On a positive note, Had a 75 Nova and 64 Biscayne: they both took a lickin' and kept on tickin', almost indestructble.

My worst car was a 1981 Chevy Malibu Classic, I bought it for $400 and the thing would eat alternators like they were going out of style-ended up being a carbonized door open buzzer connection. I also had problems with the automatic choke, i would have to replace the choke hold down every time the season changed. The taillight wires were aluminum and in Minnesota the winters would snap those bastards with any movement. Those St Anthony cops just loved me-they ran into me a number of times because of the tailights. I also felt like pipen from Oeanuts because i would smoke every time i would stop at a light and people would tell me my car was on fire.

I junked her for $100 and bought my first new car a 1994 Ford Tempo, now that was the worst car! Wouldn't start in the winter and would vapor lock on me and I bent the rim when I hit a curb on an icy patch which caused the frame to get bent. this car couldn't get out of its own way and I had payments to boot. The mechanics could never find anything wrong... Quality is job one, Bull S**t

Needless to say I miss Mitzi Malibu, I learned new things and I figured anything I spent on repairs were like a car payment.
