I guess Silas got sick of dealing with idiots on Marketplace so took the ad down there. It is still for sale, but only listed here now if you know anyone interested in a kool driver.

 

plenty of those for sure. Idiots that is. Just have to weed threw them. Craigslist still isn’t a bad place. Also eBay not a bad place to get it more viewing options.

 

Facebook marketplace is the hangout for every village idiot on the internet.

 

Glad I finally made time to hop over here and read why Silas is trying to sell Pinky. I've just been seeing his marketplace ads on Facebook and have wondered what was up. I got to say I wish I had a bit more of Silas in me, I should sell my roadster but just can't bring myself to pull the trigger.

 

Well unfortunately for both us I’ve been trying to talk the wife into reason 90001132 why Pinky should come live in Missouri with us and be a daily driver and companion to the ‘46. Maybe she will come around good luck!

 

Well, after Pinky apparently sat in the shop for 33 days according to Silas, we got around to putting the mufflers back on and swapping the fuel pump yesterday. So, we obviously had to go for a drive last night. Pretty sure she was happy to be back out on the road. Oh, and she is still available if anyone is needing a good driver.

 

Well, that can't be completely true! I'm not even on Facebook. And mostly I hangout around here.

 

My brother deals high end bikes on FB, he says it is loaded with kooks and time wasters. I've had success selling stuff on CL once I get past the scammers. Usually they jump in 10 minutes after the ad is posted.

 

So, on my trip to Albuquerque today, I happened to trip across Pinky’s brother Blue.

 

Nice, is she for sale? I need another Edsel

 

Small world. I arrived in Albuquerque today also. Tomorrow off to Taos.

 

Honestly not sure. I think it is yard art just as you head west out of Tucumcari.

No kidding. We haven’t been this close together since about 15 or so years ago in Austin for LSRU.

 

Actually, it was 2021 at Gathering at the 'Roc.
But, I'll admit, it feels longer.

 

Doh! That’s right! Man, I must be getting old.

 

Well...this may well be close to the end of the adventure for Silas and Pinky. He ended up buying a pretty dang fun but OT car for here Tuesday night and has to let Pinky go to help pay off the new car.

 

I considered it, but am out of inside space and would hate to see it sit outside.

 

Appears this may be the end of the story with Pinky. Silas just made a deal to sell it so it should be gone tomorrow. It has been quite the adventure.

 

Time for the next project.

 

Would a sad congratulations be appropriate? I sure understand moving on, but we have enjoyed the heck out of Silas and Pinky. Hopefully, Silas’s new project will be as much fun.

 

I’m hoping this is the next project. We need to get back on it.

This was fun to follow. Sad to see it go, but happy he had fun, learned lots, and gets to move on to his next project. Thanks for posting.

I really do need to get rid of several right now. I have a couple others that I can’t talk about here too that need to go away like my younger son’s 75 vette that I now own and a 67 Mercury that I recently acquired helping someone out. Oh, and Silas has an 84 El Camino that also needs sold. It’s pretty bad when even I think pulling up to my house looks like a used car dealer.

 

Pinky is officially gone and Silas has a stack of hundred dollar bills instead likely burning a hole in his pocket. Sad day in one sense, but also the start of how this car hobby sort of works most of the time at least for those of us that can't keep them all. I know he learned alot and had alot of fun. Thanks to everyone for following along and all the encouraging comments.

 

There surely has to be some mixed emotions going on there. Perhaps the new owner might consider joining us here on the HAMB and provide some (on topic) updates.


So . . . How is Bob taking all this?

Sad to see the edsel go, I liked that car. Too bad the only real memory I've got is pinky kicking Sila's butt in Bartlesville. I'm looking forward to seeing the C10 come together if that's the plan. I've even got some donor parts left over from mine if you guy's need anything.

 

So, now that you bought his OT driver, what is he buying with said stack of cash?

 

Not sure yet, but I have seen lots of Marketplace ads from all over the board in the last few hours...
