'Been a while since we had some fish puns in the thread, so here goes. I was working on the pickup today and conch'd my head on the damned hood latch. Made me eel really dizzy for a bit. Hurt almost as bad as that time I dropped a hammerhead on my foot then pulled a mussel from hopping around, yelling! Shocked the shit out of the grouper of people at the hardware store. Anyway... Fish puns aside! This thread rocks!
When you shave the front emblem on a 46-48 Plymouth they sometimes look a little long between the top of the grill and the hood peak . I think these scallops on Gary Meadors High School car take care of that "somthings missing" perfectly!
Great to se this thread pop back up, I was just working on ideas for scallops for my Model A pickup. For those that have done some painting I have a question for you, how do you go about laying out the scallops on the car, getting ready to paint. Can I see some photos of the layout process? And any words of advice. Thanks!
Just found these while floundering around on the internet for scallop ideas for my 55. Simple yet perfect.
No response here, but this popped up in another thread, in case anyone else is interested in a How-To with plenty of pics. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/1102rc-1955-chevy-bel-air Here's a couple of ideas I have for my pickup, very crude examples, I don't have photoshop, just using MS Paint, but I think they get the idea across. The color is off in the examples, I would use the same paint as is on the top half of the cab, so scallops would match the top. Thoughts?
I think I like the bottom one the best. However, you could have interlocking scallops that sort of lay over each other in sort of a U shape, if that makes any sense. Sort of like these but with maybe a couple overlapping.
