We had a 352 Packard V8 in a '56 Studie Golden Hawk. Dad did 125 mph as registered on the beautiful Stewart Warner speedo they came with.

Sorry guys the influx of NEWER than HAMB date cut off is getting out of hand. I know everybody would like their cars in here but we are close to getting this thread shut down.
There is a thread that has been approved to put your modern/classic race cars like some appearing here. This thread is the place to put them. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/current-photos-of-modern-day-nostalgia-race-cars.601216/

If that guy wasn't standing there I'd have thought Willie was sleeping. I read somewhere that he had narcolepsy and was prone to falling asleep while waiting in the staging lanes. Edit That may be a young Mousie Marcellus with Willie.
I am curious how many guys have period correct altereds? When I say "period correct" I mean late 50's early 60's.
As long as were talking about Wild Willie, this is what I would call the cream of the crop. http://www.harrellengineshotrodding.com/product.html Pre Winged Express
I know I don't. I am looking forward to my 2 kids graduating college in May. It's gonna be like I am getting a huge raise. I would love to do at least 4 races per year. The good ones......like the Meltdown, Hamb drags, maybe hit the Day of the Drags in Austin.
nice Lots of little details to study and copy for somebody building a period car - like steering wheel, motor mounting, those wild church organ zoomies, friction shocks. I don't recognise that car - any info on the owner/driver? It looks like it may be at the old Dragway 42?
