What made this one an altered? It has all the fenders and the original wheelbase, engine setback is within the allowable gasser limits.
That's Harry Luzader, and in later years he did run Altered with it some, although it was still a legal Gasser. A lot of guys switched back and forth depending on the competition in either eliminator, looking for easier prey.

To become an altered you can merely claim that some change you made put you into the altered class. Example: "Hey, I moved the front and rear axles forward an inch so the wheelbase is now 'altered'". or " The engine setback is 11%, over the 10% gasser limit." etc.
