In 1953, Eddie Perdue (Perdue Plymouth Dealer) of Redwood City, CA., built a hot rod inspired sports car. (ala Duffy Livingston, Dick Kraft, et al)
The 'Apache', as it was known, was a hand-formed, aluminum-skinned, Kurtis-nosed showcar, resplendent in its candy-red & white paint, gracefully scalloped over the long hood. Flathead was full-race, with all the extras. Chrome wire wheels & whitewalls, it was a major show winner.
The Apache ended up on the top of a steel pole on the corner of El Camino Real, in Redwood City, in front of Perdue Plymouth...Then, in '75 or so (?) it disappeared.
Anybody know more? This car was a major magazine feature, (Hot Rod, Car Craft, Motor Trend, Hop Up)
    Info would be appreciated!
